The manticore is best used as an armor buster...it is good in lists with a lot of vehicles, so that it will not be the immediate target of the enemy.....
It can fire direct and indirectly..thus you have the option to put it in reserve so that it will not be shot at early on if you face a shooty army....it has only 4 shots, but the damage potential of the vehicles is massive...try to hit closely packed enemies and if you roll 2-3 shots enjoy as the s10 pie plates wreak havoc...

The fact that it only has 4 shots isn't really relevant. If the game goes on for 7 turns and your opponent hasn't been able to stun/shake/kill it you are winning anyway. Otherwise it'll fire as many shots as any other artillery.

What I find most interesting is the fact that two other threads on page 1 also talks about the Manticore ("Explain the Manticore" and "Best IG artillery unit").
Yet the OP decides to start yet another thread, names it in a way that is of NO help to other people and procedes to ask for stats.

Also littlenibbler Orks aren't about armour saves.
Orks are about having too many models on the table, and wasting the other guy's time with your movement phase.
Orks are about having the toughest units on the table.
Orks are about not caring about how many bodies are left in a long winding trail until the squad is down to less than a third its starting strength.
Orks are about rolling more dice then you can count without the aid of a calculator or a pen and paper.
Orks are about having totally fething insane characters tearing gak down like Doc Grotsnik, Ghazghkull or Snikrot.
Orks are about being too fething awesome to die...
