Supremo?! Being a polite mild mannered person normally I wouldnt counternance being so fething rude about these puppets online if they didnt consistently make themselves out to be 'the genios'. But they do, so they deserve what they get.

Time to unleash the H.B.M.C. I think.

Pretty Sure there is a limit to how many blips can lurk at a entry point (Funny to me that he got it wrong)
gonna have to pull out the rules and make sure I am right

It's nice that they have put up an FAQ so quickly.

Most of the questions were pretty lame though. Maybe they rushed the job since the game has only been out about three weeks.

I'm writing a load of fiction. My latest story starts here... This is the index of all the stories...

We're not very big on official rules. Rules lead to people looking for loopholes. What's here is about it.

Well, a new FAQ is going to take even longer, seeing as GW only uses snail mail for these sort of things.

yeah,
Quick question? I've tried to draw a diagram below.

If I have a Space marine standing in a room on the square 'X' facing up in the direction of the corridor.
how many of the squares can he see? 1, 2 , all?

yeah,
I'm not sure,
but if I remember correctly In the rule book (Im at work?) it implies you can move 'through corners' there is a example of when a Genestealer can and cannot move to X... dodgy diagram below
basically as long as the square O is empty he can move to X for 1ap

--- [G]
[X][O][_]
[_][_][_]
[_][_][_]

I don't know how that effects the LOS diagram, So I'm guessing if you can move through the corner you can also See though corners...

That's my take on it.

In this case yes as the square next to X is free/exists.

So would agree that the marine X can shoot square [1]

JJ Hulk FAQ wrote:Q. Can the LOS for a Space Marine in a room be
explained in a bit more detail?
A. A model in a room can see all of the squares in the
room that are in his line of sight, as long as a line drawn
from the model to the target does not a) pass through a
square that blocks the line of sight, or b) pass between a
wall and a square that blocks the line of sight, or c) pass
between two squares both of which block the line of
sight. An example of b) can be found on page 11 of the
rules – the Genestealer cannot see either of the squares
marked ‘X’. Remember that a model can only see squares
in a corridor that are directly in front of it. An example of
this can be found on page 13– the two Genestealers
cannot see the Space Marine marked with an ‘X’, though
they can see the square in front of him as it is part of the
room section.
I don't have my rule book right now, does the FAQ answer my question?

Way we've been playing it no, he couldn't shoot in/at 1, unless he was in the square next and right of X.

....X + 1 ?

I would have said - and have played the game - as the marine could shoot/see square 1. He can move there, why couldn't he shoot there?

Marines can only shoot straight ahead, not diagonally.

I thought marines can shoot anything in their LOS?

I also think he can shoot [1] but not [2]... but I can see why people think he can't see anything because he's facing a wall.

You can shoot from the square below X also?

While there is diagonal movement, from what I have gathered there is no diagonal shooting. The rules are pretty anal about the facing of the model.

I think that's incorrect.
the rules and FAQ mention the Spacemarine choosing his target, for example -two genestealer are revealed in a room during blip conversion while a space marine is on overwatch-. if it was straight ahead only, he would never have a choice of target.

the facing is to determine the terminators LOS... I think he can fire at anything in this, unless a object or a wall gets in the way.

If the marine was turned 90 degrees clockwise, we can agree that he would see the genestealer in the doorway. This should be the same if he was facing the wall. I would say that he can see there.

What the FAQ is trying to clarify is that if there was a marine standing to the right of the one in the corner, the X square would not be able to see the doorway.

I don't think you can because that would then allow you to cut corners going around corridors. Making it possible to move from X to Y bellow in the cross section.
