This will be a thread where people can post queries.

To start off with I will ask, where is the power source in power weapons located?

I lol'd.. so hard...

The power source for everything the Marines use come from the power generater on their back. Heavy Weapon Marines come with various modifications to their power packs to support their weapon (Plasmacannons have larger generaters, Missile Launchers have a loading arm, etc.).

Win. Win to the utmost degree.

And yeah, it depends on the race. Eldar stuff usually just has power come from out of nowhere (the typical 'neener neener, we're psychic, so don't argue), Ork stuff from a lot of Gubbinz and the closest thing orks have to 'a prayer', Marines, as stated, from their backpacks. Tyanid stuff from bulging testicles, etc.

Testicles... WHAT?!

It should be noted, many ork things only work when being used by orks. If an ork believes it will happen, it simply happens.

Now what about IG? Marines have the powered backpack, but what about the commisars or commanders? i say that the "power" behind a commisar's power weapon is pure hatred channeled through their weapon. the commanders? battery pack in the handle i suppose...

Yeah its like dreadnought pilots only most grots want to do it and there's like a lottery, but the deff dreads are volunteers who want the power that comes from being directly hardwired into a giant metal can, they tend to be incredibly bloodthirsty thanks to them trying to make themselves feel better about... well... being permanently hardwired into a giant metal can.

Yeah, I've only read about Deffdreads in the current Ork 'dex, and they say those are permenant too. Granted, a Mek who wants that power for himself would know the downsides and plan to fix them. A non-permenant build isn't out of the question.

Something funny to be noted, Killa Kans sometimes cower in combat. It is in the grot's nature to be cowardly, and sometimes they forget they are now a 10 armored killing marchine.

none?

shoot a marine in the face with an autogun, and he will die.

that said, if he has a helmet on, it can probably take bolter fire without killing him.

Depends on the weapon being used. His skin and bones are literally bullet proof. Lasguns don't do a whole lot more than active his Melanochrome, darkening his skin and making him more resistant to further lasgun shots. However, a bolt would kill him. Bolts are armor piercing 80mm rockets with explosive charges; even if the bolt doesn't penetrate his skin, the explosion will kill him.

Question 5: How powerful is the ork geastalt field?
If they held a stick and thought it was a gun would it shoot?

The ork would probably throw the stick like a projectile ,

though the force of it might be as strong as a shot because he believes in it .

The problem is, the orks have to believe whole heartedly that that way, and only that way, can work. An ork knows a stick will not shoot bullets. An ork also knows that a gun shoots bullets, so long as there are bullets to shoot. So, as long as there are bullets, the gun will fire. The human philosophy of kicking it 'till it works would (and does) work without fail for the orks. Ork vehicles can run without gas and while sustaining critical damage (sometimes even dealt by the ork using it) depending on how much he believes his machine can take. An ork knows that some things will break his machine, but it will run until he runs into something he is sure will break it.

Basically, orks don't believe in unreasonable things, but what they do believe in is fact.

The only problem with the bullet part is that orks have fired weapons that have used solid blocks of metal as a "magazine" and had it work just because they thought it should. The rest however, yeah exactly.

Well, if the ork thought it was a magazine, then the gun really did have bullets. Bet it still ran out, though.

Another question: what effect do calexus assasins have on orks, tau, deamons or tyranids?

That is an interesting question: he'll cause Orks to wig out slightly; he'll have little effect on Tau or than making them unconfortable; he'll be invisible to Daemons; he may disrupt Tyranid control.

By the way, that is one sentence. Heh.

Yes, sort of: with the Pariah gene, he has no warp signature. Lessers rely on warp signatures to see, but Greater Daemons are powerful enough that they can see him regardless. Even Lessers in the presence of a Greater Daemon might be able to see him.

Primarchs wouldn't need to kill a grot it would if the battle was intense enough to warrent a primarch, then there would be too many orks who want to fight to let the grots fight.
