Seems legit
The formations are usable in Unbound, so it'd allow you to reroll your trait in unbound as well as battleforged

All they need to add now is to give "objective secured" in the formation and battleforged will have no value... tadaaaa!!!

Well as the book is laid out, they might as well have labeled Battle Forged as Unbound lite. There isn't a great deal of difference in terms of structure and restriction between the two.

well there really is a big difference. to use an example earlier, a 2000 point list with nothing but SAG big meks, versus a forged list of 2xSAG meks and 2x 10 gretchin until you reach 2000 is alot different.

It did before too.
4 SP = 12 HP, and Escalation confirmed it to be 12 HP.
It's mediocre in firepower (standard stompa anyway.. kustom isn't and CC ability, but pretty sturdy...

The Viletide: Daemons of Nurgle/Deathguard: 7400 pts
Disclples of the Dragon - Ad Mech - about 2000 pts
GSC - about 2000 Pts
Rhulic Mercs - um...many...

The level of nostalgia invoked when the current/old book was released for me was unparalleled. The return of the shokk attack gun and lootas with kustom combi weapons (deff guns) combined with so many ace kits was brill. Here is hoping we get same again.
Darnok has said on dakka that orks may have extended release leading into armageddon. Could be fun!

Oh yeah, break that table.

I ran a full unit of Gitz tonight. They didn't get to shoot at Bs 3 as they were constantly moving to deal with drop pods. For 250 points those i feel I got good value out of them

I'm kind of hoping we still get to upgrade Snazz guns.
I'll miss ignores cover though, however the price drop, gittfinda, and base of three shots was very much needed.

Greyhound wrote:They changed the Grot Riggers, maybe they'll change the ammo runts too?
Something as simple as the following would totally make this an OP unit:
Completely WAG:
Ammo Runt1: "The runt keeps feeding the ork with so much ammos, that there is no point letting go of the trigger, the model gets twin-Linked and get hot"
( TL mitigates the get hot, and the increase of firepower is huge)
Ammo Runt2: "The runt provides extra ammos to the ork, saving him the time required to reload" + 1 shot
Anything like that and we're in riptide mode, no?
Sure but I think Ammo Runtz will be less interesting for 3 points a model.
I've already thought about it, I think it will allow the models to re-roll any failed shots with a D6 of 1.

I'm holding out hope that we will get the 3rd edition Looted Wagon rules back. They seem to be uninterested in making a Looted Wagon kit and they are currently encouraging people to buy kits and books from multiple ranges for their armies. Surely it makes financial sense to just say 'you can take any non-walker, non-skimmer, non-flier, non-chariot, non-super-heavy vehicle unit from any other codex as part of your ork detachment; it loses all special rules, drops to BS 2, becomes part of the ork faction and can take ork vehicle upgrades instead of the ones from it's original codex. It always counts as a Heavy Support option in the ork detachment.' At a bare minimum, that's a bunch more sales of other codexes and a few extra vehicle kits for virtually no effort at all.

Maybe "Instead of picking a heavy support choice from the ork faction, your primary detachment may include a vehicle with the tank subtype from any faction. If you do, replace all special rules with 'Don't press dat' and 'Orkish Accuracy'." Orkish accuracy would then cause the vehicle to fire all non-snapshots at BS2.

7 Ork facts people always get wrong:
Ragnar did not win against Thrakka, but suffered two crushing defeats within a few days of each other.
A lasgun is powerful enough to sever an ork's appendage or head in a single, well aimed shot.
Orks meks have a better understanding of electrics and mechanics than most Tech Priests.
Orks actually do not think that purple makes them harder to see. The joke was made canon by Alex Stewart's Caphias Cain books.
Gharkull Blackfang did not even come close to killing the emperor.
Orks can be corrupted by chaos, but few of them have any interest in what chaos offers.
Orks do not have the power of believe. |

I'd rather use a model of a WW2 tank as a looted wagon. Tiger tank for the orks? Hell yes.

A single page could list every vehicle available with a lower point cost due to lower BS (and inferior weapons?)
The closest ork weapon replacing the bolters etc. add on ork ramshackle rules removing the original codexes special rules.
So the list of looted wagons is something like
Looted Dakka Predator AV13/11/10 BS2 - ramshackle - 2 big shootas and TL Rocket launcher - 65pts -HP3
Looted Ravager AV10/10/10 ramshackle - skimmer - 3x TL rockets - 100pts - HP3
...
Looted Basilisk AV 12/10/10 ramshackle - Hull mounted TL big shoota - Boomgun - 100pts - HP3...
Any vehicle can upgrade it's TL big shootas for TL rockets +5pts each
Panic.

Does it matter? USe the normal custom stomp rules. They are just as "legal" as anything in the book. Forge World included it in the FAQ of allowable LoW choices.
If someone doesn't want to play against a stomp, the source of that stomp will be irrelevant.

yeah,
So excited, can't wait to get new grot reinforcements!
In my Grot blog I've started work clearing my back catalogue...
Today I will paint 8 grot tanks and a mega dread!
My Kan wall needs one or two new Morkanauts and their KFFs.
So is the current rumour that the KFFs save will be an invulnerable or cover save?
Will that apply to the KFF carried by my big meks?
Panic...
