Finally decided to start a PM blog. I'm so sleepy I'm slightly dizzy, so I won't be talking that much. Btw, does anybody else find that warhammer can ruin good sleeping schedules? Anyways, I have been working on a SM army. I just felt like making up my own army, and I decided to make it desert themed. The story is that this is a sm army that got stranded on a monstrous desert planet and through thier years in the desert planet, they were made vulnerable to behemoths many times larger than a titan, constantly attacked by war-loving natives, and victim to the deadly heat and storm that enveloped the entirety of the planet. Through the years, they became a nomad force, where each inch of marine muscle was made impeccable in regards to the basic and primal human drive: survival. However, the army couldn't take credit for all their victories. They did find a hospitable town almost every decade, where they could eat a warm meal and feel human again for a few days. But, the belief of every marine in that army is that the real reason for their survival is the fact that they were able to find springs of water whenever they were at the end of their rope - leading them to think there must be someone watching over them.
Anyways, I've been working on this army a lot, but not much is done. I've just started casting replacement heads for the regular tactical type soldiers. I'll post a pic up later ... Anyways here is a pic of a sm scout sniper head i just did tonight. I'm going to be giving them different heads.
And here is an image of a terminator with a shoulder piece that I'm going to begin casting tomorrow.
For a teaser, I ordered up some bitz and some action figure parts. I'll let you in on it as soon as I can.

Yup. I can attest to many restless nights where I'll wake up a about 2am with a great new idea for my guard and can't get back to sleep again.
These are looking good so far. I'm looking forward to seeing how the new bits pan out

Listen, my children, as I pass onto you the truth behind Willy Wonka and his factory. For every wonka bar ever created in existance, Mr. Wonka sacraficed a single Oompa Loompa to the god of chocolate, Hearshys. Then, he drank the blood of the fallen orange men because he fed them a constant supply of sugary chocolate so they all became diabetic and had creamy, sweet-tasting blood that willy could put into each and every Wonka bar. That is the REAL story behind willy wonka's Slaughter House! |

Yeah, talk about sleeping late... I hate sleeping past 4am. Yes, I have decided on a paint scheme. It is going to be mostly desert tan, with dark brown weathering. I'm going for a dirty imperial guard look On to the demanded moar! Abram Terminators. The WoL army came upon the remains of Imperial guard battalions that failed to brave the desert planet and survive. It was a blessing from the one who watched over them. It was an unexpected help for the marines whose damaged equipment could benefit from spare parts, but many also used the remains as a resource to increase the lethality of their weapons. Most marines waded in the masses of downed imperial guard soldiers, but it was different for the Terminators. In the wreckage of imperial guard vehicles is where they found their gold. In the twisted and rusted shell of a Leman Russ or a Stormblade, they found materials which they forged (with the help of the all too willing Techmarine) into superior, though heavier armor. Tactical Marine heads. 1. A common modification the marines made was to their helmets. Many added filtering devices to their masks enabling the circulatory system of their suits to last the regular sand storm. I will add tubes and such when the head gets put on the body. 2. 3. I might give each marine a different head. But who knows who will win: discipline or laziness muehehe

Got the bitz in, and I will start decking the marines out but I still have to sculpt their heads. Plan is to have them look about as well equipped as modern US soldiers, but packing more provisions than that because they are basically nomadic. A WIP tac marine. Sorry for everything being WIP, they will be for a while... Btw, forgot to mention, I do have a paint scheme Dark Lord Seanron, it will be mostly tan but some browns for wear gear, blacks and greys will have hints of aquas, and lenses and lights will be in the range of green to blue.

If you're basing it off of the US military, at least one model must have one of these pieces of "war-like Native headgear".

I could think of plenty of reasons. If a unit is stuck in a sandstorm where visibility is severely limited, they could grab the proceeding marine`s bar in order to stick close to one another. Extra equipment and supplies could be tied to it, and during extremely intense storms, quakes, or attacks from large beasts, they could use the bar to tie the marines down to stop them from being thrown around.

Cool stuff some wonderful modelling. Are you planning to do any Desert Converted vehicles like the LRDG's Jeeps from WW2?
