If you can make a whole gang of only redemptionists, the box will allow you to build at least a leader, a champion and a ganger. Maybe a juve as well.

We've seen what's in the new Red box.

3 minis with 2 torso options per set of legs.

Interesting that the new rulebook in the box will include "get you by" gang lists and equipment lists, for use until you buy a House Of ... book.

If there's a trading post in there, it's goodbye to GotU.

What does that mean anyway? Reprint of N18 gangs? Those are demo rules compared to the N20+ gangs.

And what's up with the reprinted "Proper Preparation" changing timing from before deployment to after? Get the feeling there will be large amount of pointless changes like that for both books and cards.

Wondering if dark uprising which is now listed as being out of stock is being replaced by so called entry level starter set.

I'd take pretty much any other heads at this point than what they have, the heads really do a number on the models as a whole.

DU went direct only, discussed a couple of pages back. My guess is it'll almost certainly be oop sooner rather than later.

Now to see what the Necromunda reveal is next Thursday.
Do we think just another gang sprue (Cawdor!?), Or next book and gang.
Maybe a new updated 2021 roadmap..
Who knows!

And a few different weapon options as well.

Guess you'll need two boxes for a full gang of redemptionnists. Meaning 12 miniatures, even if there are duplicates.

And yeah, I expect the new starter box will be unavailable to buy online pretty fast. Though maybe that one won't be "definitely not available".

At least, the new rulebook will include the latest erratas AND core rules for all 6 basic gangs. Simplified entry for new players to Necromunda is always good to have.

Umm... this whole box basically says Start Here. We finally get a complete book with rules and gangs and there is outrage that these are probably just the basic gang rules from GotU. The article even says when you want more to put ip the "House of" books.

So, this book replaces Rulebook+GotU and keeps the House of Books as "Advanced" Necromunda. But what about the other non-core gangs? Will they get an "Outlanders"-type book to bring them inline with "House of" books? See Baxx, that's the real worry I'd have here, not that we get a new single book allowing you to play Necromunda with expansion paths. Then again maybe Thursday will show up the full road map?

Honestly I’d be pretty happy if the new rulebook is just an errataed and cleaned up core rules and the basic gang lists. If it has a campaign in there too I will probably pick it up.

I love the core rules for the new edition of Necromunda, but for someone who doesn’t play that often there are just way too many books and way too much errata to keep up with. If this book is just the core game with the simple house gangs and a campaign in a bit more of an organized fashion I will probably pick it up and just stick with that.

No books have ever replaced previous books before so that would be a first. No book will ever be complete either. As every boomk before, this will change the game, whether it's intended or not (often times seemingly not).

EDIT: I should say rulebook, as some of the Gang War books may be fully replaced.

I don’t want this to come across as adversarial, but did the N18 rule book not replace the box set and Gang War rules. Does anyone actually use those books rather than the soon to be replaced book and GotU? The only difference here is that the rulebook was replaced last rather than first or concurrently.

But you must agree that a single book with rules and basic gang lists is a good thing for Necromunda, whether it’s subtly or even slightly different from N18+GotU. One rather than two books to start puts it on a level footing as Kill Team. One gang box and a book and you can see if this is a game for you.

You would think so, and largely yes. But still the stuff that it should replace got more and better info in some cases. Like some of the scenarios lost info about how many objectives/loot to place. The N17 rulebook also got some useful info that was lost in transition to N18 rulebook, like move through friendly fighters and reinforcements help against bottling. It's been discussed more in detail here: https://yaktribe.games/community/threads/underhive-ruleset-when-beta-is-better-than-the-final-product.10870/

And while the N18 rulebooks largely replaced the N17 rulebook + Gang War books, it also made a ton of microchanges, like updating random stats and costs of fighters, weapons and items.

Yeah... I looked at that layout. Play a game in a Zone Mortalis tile and a half.

With a close combat gang and a gang that uses a lot of pistols. Brutal is right. Emperor help you if someone decides they're going to bring along some Grinders.

Speaking of the mortalis tiles, how often does GW restock them?

They were a 1 shot...

At Games Workshop, we believe that how you behave does matter. We believe this so strongly that we have written it down in the Games Workshop Book. There is a section in the book where we talk about the values we expect all staff to demonstrate in their working lives. These values are Lawyers, Guns and Money.

I believe it was January when they had a second release. I bought at 7pm at night and they sold out in the hour.

Talking about House Escher weapons and equipment, there’s also a plastic upgrade sprue coming out alongside Necromunda: Hive War. Packed with deadly weaponry and alternate heads, it’s perfect for personalising your gang.

It will be interesting to see how long before the other gangs get plastic upgrade sprues as well. It always surprised me that they went the resin route for this sort of thing to start with and not small upgrade sprues (other than manufacturing capacity, obviously!)

Specialist Games were a bit of a risk at relaunch.

Sure, there were always vocal advocates for them, but beyond that number, who knew how big the market might be?

This is why we’ve seen odd and wonky roll outs, almost to the degree of mini relaunches. It’s also why extra weapons were done in resin, as they’re less cost intensive to get on the shelf.

Looking at the over abundance of hand flamers in the resin sets, not sure you’re statement is correct
