I was bored today, and wanted to test out a list I wrote for another thread against my own. I did it in Vassal because I didn't feel like playing a mass proxy, and since I did it in Vassal I could get pics and a proper battle report for you guys. I won't outline the movement too much, as I have pictures for that.

I rolled Pitched Battle, Capture and Control. The Tzeentchian army won the roll for deploying and going first, and Nikolii failed to seize the initiative. This was the deployment, and the Possessed rolled Furious Charge.

First turn for Tzeentch. The left Landraider fires on Noise Marine's Rhino, but after cover saves only manages to shake it. Oblits fire on the same Rhino, but roll snakes eyes for penetration. The Predator fires on the Plague Marine's Rhino, immobilizing and shaking it.

Nikolii retaliates. The Noise Marines charge forward and fire on Oblits, killing both. Nikolii's venerable transport hunter, the Predator, fires on Landraider causing it to explode and kills one of the Thousand Sons. The Plague Marine's Rhino wastes no time, and repairs the immobilized result. (Vassal served me a whole lot of 6s this turn.) The Possessed's Rhino advances and fires smoke grenades.

On Tzeentchs second turn both reserves come down. The Terminators land inches away from the venerable Predator. Lessers come down off the exposed Thousand Son's Personal Icon, and later run 1" towards the objective. The Landraider fires on Noise Marine's Rhino with 1 Lascannon, shaking it. The Terminators fire into the venerable Predator, the blast engulfing the Terminators in flame, but their armor holds. The Tzeentchian Predator fires on Possessed Rhino, but its smoke saves it. The Daemon Prince advances on the Noise Marines, giving the Gift of Chaos to their Champion to keep the Great Unclean One from interfering. However, the Noise Marines are too quick, and the Daemon Prince only kills one. The Noise Marines direct their attention to the softer target slaying the Spawn, and with rage to spare they inflict a wound on the Daemon Prince as he refused to retreat.

Nikolii bides his time, only summoning one group of Lesser Daemons to assist the Noise Marines. Nikolii then turns to the fiends who destroyed his Predator, killing all three with his Winds of Chaos. As the combat continues, the Daemon Princes slays two more Noise Marines, who fail to return the favour. The newly arrived Lesser Daemons swamp the Daemon Prince, causing 2 wounds.

Tzeentchs third turn. The Thousand Sons advance 4 inches with the Dreadnought following their advance, his mind kept in check thus far. The Tzeentchian Lesser Daemons run three inches towards the objective. The Thousand Sons on the western front disembark from their Landraider, but fail to cause any damage to the Bikers bearing down on them. The Thousand Sons to the east have far more luck, killing two Plague Marines with only 5 shots. The Dreadnought and Predator focus their efforts on the advancing Possessed Rhino, shaking, immobilizing and destroying a weapon. The Daemon Prince kills the last two Noise Marines, but the Lesser Daemons finish the Daemon Prince off with a flurry of attacks. Overjoyed by their success, they charge 6" towards the objective.

On his third turn, Nikolii summons the Obliterators as he enters his Rhino. The Lesser Daemons run swiftly, covering 12" towards the objective. The Obliterators fire at Dread with their Multi-Meltaguns, causing it to explode, but failing to kill any of the near-by Thousand Sons. The Noise Marine's Rhino fires at the Western Thousand Sons, killing two with Havoc Launcher. The Slaaneshi Bikers intend to finish off the Thousand Sons, thus securing the western objective. They fire two salvos from their twin-linked bolters meltaguns then assault, killing two. The Possessed charge the enemy Predator, destroying it in a fireball of promethium, killing a Possessed Marine.

Desperate, the Thousand Sons move 6" and fire into the Obliterators, but to no avail. Their bolters and Sorcerer's power expent without results, they charge into close combat. Both parties fail to do anything. On the other side of the battle zone, the Bikers lose one of their host to the enemy Sorcerer, but fail to return the favour.

Nikolii decides it is time to end this, and summons the Father's Envoy and his host. The Great Unclean One joins Possessed to assault enemy Lesser Daemons holding the objective. The Lessers kill 2 Possessed, but lose 6 to the Nurgle forces' fury. The Lessers join Bikers and finish off Thousand Sons to the west. To the east, the Aspiring Sorcerer slays an Obliterator.

On the final turn, the Landraider's crew await their imminent doom. The Thousand Sons and Obliterator fail to damage each other, while the Possessed and Greater Daemon finish off Lesser Daemons, securing the objective.

Nikolii watches as the Thousand Sons finish off the last Obliterator. The Bikers kill the Landraider with their Meltaguns. With the objective controlled and the enemy forces decimated, the Warp Stalkers claim a massacre victory.

Rotting Sorcerer of Nurgle

Yay for Nurgle...but I wouldn't call it Nurgle, I think it was heavy in Slaanesh...while all the 'generic' daemons really don't count IMO to a specific god.

This is a little story about four people named Everybody, Somebody, Anybody, and Nobody.
There was an important job to be done and Everybody was sure that Somebody would do it.
Anybody could have done it, but Nobody did it.
Somebody got angry about that because it was Everybody's job.
Everybody thought that Anybody could do it, but Nobody realized that Everybody wouldn't do it.
It ended up that Everybody blamed Somebody when Nobody did what Anybody could have done.

Isn't Gift of Chaos used at the start of the turn, prior to movement?

Yes, it's not a shooting attack and doesnt happen in the shooting phase, or any other phase for that matter.

If we were to play each other in a tournament, not only would I table you, I would murder you, your family, every woman you ever loved and burn down your house. I mean, what's the point in winning if you allow people that don't take the game seriously to live?
