Predator
- Las Cannon Sponsons
Pts: 120

OR

6 Long Fangs
-5 Missle Launchers
Pts: 140

Predator has less shots but Las cannons for strength 9 and ap2 for shooting heavier tanks or 2+ save monsterous creatures. Predator has good front armor but is vulnerable being assaulted since it must stay still to fire all weapons and side and rear shots.

Long fangs are more versatile. They have more shots and can shoot frag missiles versus infantry like horde orks that don't have any vehicles. Long fangs are vulnerable to small arms fire and Lash as well as assaults.

What are your opinions?

And this is why the Space Wolves codex is so great. They are equally balanced choices. It will really come down other factors in your army.

If you run a mech SW army then I'd prefer the Predators.
The enemy will think twice about shooting your Rhinos, Predators, LR's and whatnot.
This will eventually dilute enemy fire.

I would prefer Long Fangs if I used them.
Two Rhinos incoming?
SPLIT FIRE!
No two Rhinos anymore.
Two crippled 'Fexes?
SPLIT FIRE!
No two crippled 'Fexes anymore (unless they have 2+ save)

Consider, though that plasma will ruin the LF's day, but not so much the preds. OTOH a lascannon/melta shot or two will hurt the pred, but still leave the LF's firing. So it depends.

I use both.
