I'm gonna have to go with the Catachans on this one, though the Death Korps and the Tanith are both badass in their own way, the Catachans are just so hardcore they take the cake. The fact that a regiment spent year hunting tyranid lictors in a swamp is enough to win my vote.

Yes, but for Catachans and DKoK, they join the army to escape their home. That's pretty tough compared to Cadians and other imperial guard.

I was asking why they are not on the poll. I was saying that they were the coolest, with the others coming after. Sorry about the miscommunication!

I voted Krieg, for the reason of fighting with a re-breather? Thats dangg difficult, just try to be efficiently fighting with a combat mask in front of you and youre not only worried about getting shot but youre worried your air supply runs out and you get killed by the toxic air or your gas tank gets shot in which case you also die.

Blessed is the mind too small for doubts.

Well the DKoK arent ALWAYS on toxic dead world's. They are probably posted at them a lot but the mask is mainly for looks now. However you are right, imagine your mask slipping off for any amount of time on a world that is to toxic to breath regularly even at Imperium standards. Living on a forge world is probably like breathing inside of a smokestack nowadays

I have also heard they wear the masks as part of their shame and guilt. Noone see's their faces and none of them have names..... very grimdark.

It's out o habit; Krieg was decimated with nukes, so now everyone has to wear gas masks. The gas mask just becomes a second skin to them.

having to qualify with a gas mask currently is no joke. However, i would probably suggest that the Kriegers, and other IG units that are "always" in rebreathers or other masks, have probably modified their sights on their weapons, or had optics developed to allow them to be more accurate.

But they've been wearing some form of gas mask since birth, they've become acclimatised to such discomforts.

That's a tough one. Maybe on a good day Mkvenner could outsneak Mkoll but I still give the edge to Mkoll. Mkvenner could definately beat Mkoll in a Karate match though. Guys an actual fething ninja.

Anyways, Finishing of the Vraks trilogy and I feel I should mention some IG who are even more badass than the Death Korps of Kieg: The Death Korps of Krieg Engineers! By The Emperor, The DKoK are the grimmest, darkest IG of all but the Engineering Korps is to regular DKoK what DKoK are to normal Guard. Tunnel rat extraordinaires!

Mkoll admits that only one man had ever surpassed him in the art of stealth and scout and he was referring to Mkvenner at the time.

That and the fact that if you rip out your year 40,000 edition of the oxford gothic dictionary and look up the phrase "fething badass" it displays a picture of an inquisitor, his retinue, and a team of stormtroopers looking around and gaping at the ninja Houdini that they just had pulled on them.

DKoK get my vote.

thats why the Dkok get my second place vote with the Catachans coming in at third
