Amazing Job!

I will definitely be following this thread.

I have a quick question for you or anyone who knows (Please forgive me if this is obvious, I just recently got into 40K). When you create the bases, do you glue your men down first, or after the mud has been applied? I noticed on a few they seem to sit higher than the base, how were you able to get the mud to cover their boots and such if they were glued on after.

Again, sorry for the amateurish question.

Thanks.
You can do it however you like, there are no general rules. Sometimes it looks better when the figure is not sinking into the ground. Other times you have to build the ground around it.

I noticed somewhere that you had a picture of one of the troops being suspended in the air with a wire. Do you wire your troops to "hover" and build the mud up to the figure, or do you typically create the mud, glue the figure, then build up more mud before painting?

I appreciate you taking the time to answer my question. Again, amazing work on the figures!

Only this one time, because he was jumping. Usually I glue them to the base and cover the base with one layer of mud.

No problem, and thank you.

And it would be worth about 6000 € This won't be finished quickly.

Here's a quick question:
In a game against my army, would you have a problem if my Leman Russ was just slightly larger than a standard Leman Russ? Let's say I'd use a Malcador as a Leman Russ ...

I'm pretty sure that it would be better fluff wise.

If anything, having something larger than a 'Russ would be a hindrance to you anyway and it is a GW product, so I can't see anything wrong with it.
So long as it looks awesome that is.

With how the rest of your army looks, I wouldn't care if you used a Tonka Toy, honestly I wouldn't even notice said tonka toy besides maybe "Hmm it's not muddy... and something..., but look at everything else!"

But really, I'd have no problem with a Malcador, I'd actually support it since it would tie in that much better, and even if it was against the rules I'd cut you the slack anyway, I'm personally a lot more lenient on letting my opponents bend rules if their army looks amazing.

Haha, thanks for your great answer!

So far, everyone said they'd be OK with it. The Malcador is slightly longer than a Russ but as whide and high.
So, how does that sound: The Malcador is on it's way and I plan a heavy conversion. A Leman Russ turret may be involved.

I adore you work, honestly this is one of the most amazing DKOK armies I have come across! I think the redish brown you choose for the bases really does a wonderful job compliment the green great coats Awesome

A LR turret may work if it doesn't look silly, so only time will tell on that, I look forward to see how it turns out though.

I think it'll look good.

Now to something different:
While waiting for new miniatures to arrive, I tried to make an animation of the Hades Breaching Drill's blades.

And yes, the outer blades are off-center on the model.

I guess this will be my compensation for not being able to build rotating blades on the model. I just wanted to see these bloody things rotate!!

Imho the best thing about your infantry are the trench coats. Can't wait for the drill.

Thank you. The first drill is already there.
It's just thad I wanted to see these things rotate really bad so when building was not an option, I started trying to make it in 3D.

I fear that I might have to re-allocate some of my DK-budget towards these ... ;D

TEASER:

3 combined squads (already shot down) as close combat squad with pistols, commissar and Quartermaster (Feel no Pain) at the main objective.

Land-Raider-Killer: 5 Engineers with Melter Bombs and Hades Breaching Drill. The drill immobilized the LR on the left and the Melter Bomb immobilized the LR on the right.
Another Melter Bomb destroyed the main weapon of the LR on the Left. Only then did the first engineer die.

Without cassualties: The artillery hill

Company Command with Master of Ordnance and Heavy Bolter. Artillery: Thudd Gun and Heavy Mortar.
In the front: Autocannons
To the left: Watchmaster of the grenadiers in a backwards movement as a reaction to losing all 9 men - after killing all standards of the enemy so that noone would get that objective.
