I don't know the exact colors, but I would dry brush heavily a dark green (Dark Angels Green, for example), and keep dry brushing lighter coats of lighter greens. Maybe Dark Angels Green-Catachan Green-Snot Green-Goblin Green?

I'd suggest a dark green base, probably dark angel's green like DarkAngelsRK suggested, then dry brush catachan green then snot green or knarloc green. for the plates on their backs, id start with dheneb stone and dry brush camo green and then maybe really lightly with something like bubonic brown. warlock purple for the little purple details. them go over the whole model with devlan mud wash.
That's just from looking at it and guessing colours, so I don't know what that would come out like.

Nid skin is VERY easy. Drybrush a dark dark green first. Give it a green wash, then drybrush a lighter green. Highlight with the lightest green and there you go. If you wanna keep the crevices the purple color then thats a different story.

Civilization is the progress toward a society of privacy. The savage's whole existence is public, ruled by the laws of his tribe. Civilization is the process of setting man free from men.

Post pictures when you have one. As for washes I'd go with Thraka Green, that's what I use on my Dark Angels, and they come out pretty good.

I think that green has been highlighted with a beige colour mixed into the green rather than lighter shade of green. I'm not sure.
Where did you get the pic? Ask the source?

edit: didn't read the OP correctly. Sorry. As for the carapace: purple perhaps? Green Goblin 'nids?

Good functioning colour scheme if you ask me. I think the bone coloured carapace is the right colour. Subtle purple bits such as leg joints and tongue also work well.

For the bits that are purple in that scheme, i'd do scorpion green with a thraka green wash, then highlight in bright yellow, to give a sort of bioluminescent effect

An editorial

Seeing these painted Nids makes me feel as if this is the color they're MEANT to be. Looks more realistic somehow than the bright reds and oranges and sky blue that you see so much of.

Not that those aren't cool, but I have to imagine that Nids would be bred in organic colors - so that they'd blend in with their surroundings. And your plan fits the bill. Best of luck with this project, hope to see your pics soon.

My take.
