Well what is it.
Mine isn't a injury from modeling. but one dat(this was when i was still naive about the hobby) I was bored and was pushing dried green stuff against the hobby knife but i didnt realise how hard i pressed it. then SWOOSH. blood for the blood god. lol.
While on this topic. What do you think is the biggest danger of the hobby?
I think its that varsity football team not really. I think the biggest danger is modelling in your underwear.

My worst modelling injury actually wasn't my own, but one I caused. I accidentally left my superglue open, my cat knocked it over and got lots of superglue all over her paw . We had to take her to the vet, but they were able to get it all off. Luckily, the hair on her paw grew back, but for a couple of months, she had one front paw without any fur .

The biggest danger, in my opinion, is superglue. There's so many ways superglue can go wrong. Ingestion, fingers, pants...you name it.

My worst modeling injury wasn't actually while modeling... but while I was trying to modify a foam sword...

I was using my hobby knife to try to cut off the plastic hand guard and BAM... cut off all of the skin on my little finger knuckle.

I couldn't bend it for around two weeks or it would bleed like it was completely cut off..

I agree with superglue.. it's a pain to get off of your hands and clothes... I've ruined many a pair of jeans with it.

I actually have a full body tattoo, but it's of an invisibility cloak, so you can't see it.

Nothing real bad so far. A couple weeks ago I slipped while removing from flash with a modeling knife and jabbed it a good distance into my finger.

Worst I had was a modeling knife with a round handle (which is a terrible idea) rolled off the table and landed in my leg.

I've had an x-acto roll off my table and embed itself into my foot to the depth of the blade (it was the pointy blade in the pencil sized handle). Cut was about an inch deep and 12 mm long.

Band-aid on the cut (with a spot of gauze) and it was fine. Fresh blade and a clean cut. Not even a scar left these days (it was over 25 years ago).

I'm OVER 50 (and so far over everyone's BS, too).

I'm legendary around here for cutting myself. Most of my army if not all of it has my blood on it somewhere (Inside, outside but wiped off etc.) we laugh and call it blood magic

I think the worst time I cut myself was when I was cutting through Lysander 4 years ago. Slashed through the side of my thumb, hit bone, had so much force the blade almost completed a full semi-circle. I had superglue holding it together before any blood started pouring out - No scar, but I still remember that day and which thumb it was...

Over the years, I've become used to the fact that I will get cut with my hobby knife.

There was a time where I used this redicliously strong glue for a batch of minis years ago. Somehow I had got it all over my hands. Instead of just chipping off the skin like it usually does, it was taking skin OFF as it was removed. Pretty scary as a kid. lol

To the OP, I'm a former Varsity football Player lol.

The difference between commitment and involvement is like eggs and ham; the ckicken was "involved", the pig was "comitted".

OH-I Wanna get out of here

Maybe not the bloodiest, but the one that hurt the most was when I was drilling out the barrel on the Space Hulk Assault Cannon guy and the drill bit snapped. the broken end then went thru my fingernail.

Reached behind a couch to grab a fallen Assault Marine and slipped. There was a bit of splinter sticking out of the wall and I drove it underneath my fingernail and up into the cuticle. Hurt like a Dark Eldar was torturing me, and hurt worse after I gritted my teeth and yanked the damned splinter out. I still have a red streak under my fingernail, 11 months later.

Mine was pretty bad, haha.... Not exactly modeling.... Making scenery. I was cutting out a cardboard drawbridge for a castle, and my exacto got stuck, so I said to my 11-year old self at the time "push harder!". So I did that, it came loose, and SWOOSH! The one inch tip of my pinky was on the floor, and a pool of blood insued. Luckily got it sewn back on after more than 10 hours in the waiting room holding my pinky on..... Learned my lesson that day, I did!

I have a habit of painting/modelling whilst listening to the TV, nothing on that actuallly requires my full attention.
When I first got together with my wife, on the rare quiet moment I was converting a white metal Model, forget which, Instead of using Clipper to remove the excess sprue I used the knife. Unfortunately it was not that sharp where I first started cutting, I kept at it until suddenly I found the sharp part or the Knife and cut clear through the Model, my trousers and cut a 10" gash in my leg.

The wife was the first to notice, due the my blood splattering over her.

What followed was some first aid, a trip in an ambulance, and a short stay in the Hospital.

Mainly just the odd slice from the craft knife, although a few months back I was assembling some LotR Corsairs and there was a knock on the door, I shot up with out thinking and looked down to see my craft knife sticking up vertically from my big toe. I didn't start bleeding properly until I pulled it out. So there I was hopping up and down spraying blood on the cream carpet, swearing and trying to answer the door.

All my injuries were fairly tame... just minor cuts and punctures. I've lost count of the number of times I've spilled superglue on me though... when that stuff dries, it seems to take forever to get it all off... and your fingers feel really dry and crackly for days afterwards.

This thread is... grizzly. Worst thing to happen to me are some very minor cuts, I've only bleed once (from hobbying) but I guess I've always naturally been very careful with knives and the like.

Was cutting flash of a giant plastic Great Cthulhu using a brand new Xacto blade. The plastic was variable in thickness. I was using lots of pressure to get through a thick part, then SWOOSH hit a thinny and sliced right through the base of my thumb, at the joint. Could see white on the bottom of the cut and thought, man, that's either bone or cartilage... hope I didn't mess up the joint. If I lose motion in my left thumb, thats gonna suck. It was long, deep, and bleeding all over, so I knew I couldn't just bandaid it.

Got a ride to the ER and had to explain to the doc, because he was really impressed with the cut. He said that it was very nice and clean. "If your going to slice yourself, this is the way to do it." I watched him clean and sew it up. Seven stiches later... Its been about 10 years and I can still feel it, but it works fine. That doc was awesome!

The really funny part was there was a drunk in the ER who was bleeding really bad from being in a bar fight. He was a couple of curtains over... the nurses said they were going to let him sit for a while because he was such a donkey cave. So they very loudly proclaimed that I needed to get stiched up first!

I actually have one to follow up on the C'thulhu.

So, it was the morning before a meet at my buddy Admiral Bell's house and I wanted to have my new secret weapon ready. The model was the Great Unclean One. I was hurrying to put it together, and the skulls on his chain wouldn't quite fit together. So I did a rather rash thing; rather than cleaning out the super glue gumming it up, I simply hacked at it with my clippers. A shard of metal, still covered in super glue flew off, right into my left eye. I yelled and dropped the metal man right on my foot. The shard's glue was drying in my eye, and my vision was fogging up, but I could have sworn I heard maniacal laughter in the background (by the way, I'm psychotic). Anyway, I had to take half an hour and clear out my eye, and the peices finally fit. Now the really interesting thing is that to this day, my Great Unclean One hasn't let me down. It's mauled everything I've put before it. Suffer for your miniatures and they'll serve you forever!

Yep. After looking at his box, he's actually vinyl not plastic. I couldn't bring myself to finish him. Just digging him out makes my thumb tingle. I intend to build and paint him... eventually. I tried to attach a photo of my partially glued guy, but don't know if it worked. Here's a description of the kit, at least:
