Hi there!

I'm currently working on a berserker warband and the idea of a full CC dreadnought seemed quite glamourous.

I started it using the dreadnought parts and khorne bits I already had, and ordering the missing parts at the lowest price on different bits shops.

Even if I didnt used it, the AOBR dread' would be just fine for this conversion.

I wish to thank Cathar the Great for his tutorial about dreadnought frontplates (pictures will soon be posted).

(note that bending an icon without breaking it is a bit ... well... )

Chainfists are coming.

Pelase give me your opinion.

Thank you!

Spikes are from chaos vehicle sprue (I wish I'd be able to make such stuff), they quite well fit the hull.

I haven't make much more progress on it by now, so any suggestion is welcome!

BTW I've uploaded one more pic:

Looks really good so far. you gettgin the chain fists from forge world? Those oens look aweseme.

I agree with you ont he bending plastic thing. I tried that with some of the round spike bits form the vehicle frame. It is an absolute pain to bend it without breaking.

Looking forward to pics of the finished item.

Your idea is now stolen and will be the model for the AOBR conversion I just happen to trim last night.

Awesome idea!

I'm not like them, but I can pretend.

nice conversion, i recently turned a aobr dread into a nurgle dread cc model. thought i have always thought that if i ventured to the lure of khorn, id make 3 cc dreads for the army, to march along side the berzerkers. the spiky bits on the chest are a nice touch

Thank you guys!

@ 1-UP: stealing my idea is the best compliment you can make!

I'm going to work on it this week-end and will soon try to post more pics.

No, I'm converting Ironclad chainfists; the left arm is nearly done, and I expect to get the right arm bits for next week-end.

The main point I'm not sur about is if I should convert the exhaust pipes and how. Any idea?

i think the exhaust staks are fine. the only thign i can think of is putting soem of the chaos vehicle sprue dragon heads on them or somethign. but that coudl end up takign attention away fromt he rest of the model.

I've found the exhaust elements of a defiler in my bits box. They are far too thin to be used as a replacement, but I'm thinking of putting it on top of the actual exhaust staks to give it a more chaotic aspect.
What do you think about it?

Another question: what do you guys think of a banner on a dreadnought, and if yes, what size?

New pictures soon!

I like the idea of a banner/icon on it. If you go along with this idea, how about using the khorne icon top?

TA-DAH!!!

Arrows are made with slaanesh icons, the skulls are from the soulgrinder

And now, as Avach asked for it: more picures of what I did this morning:

I still guess what to put on the top of the model (icon, spikes?).
A banner might be too tall for this little guy if I put it on top, but I will stick one on the base behind him. I quickly made one whith plastic Bloodletters' spare:

I'm expecting to receive the bits I need for the right chainfist this week. This conversion should be finished soon after that.

The only problem I see with it, is its a bit static for a Khorne dred. But everything on it looks really cool so far

You're right. Thanks for noticing this!

It's a bit late to work on the legs, but I will try to do something with the hull and arms position to make him a little more dynamic.

I wouldn't worry about it too much.

This IS a dreadnought after all.

He's not going to be doing too many high knee lifts or toe touches anymore.

Like the rest of the rather foolish "be careful what you wish for" non-static posed Berzerkers...

This will look good, for sure.

My critic, not a fan of the head. It just seems too plain for a Dread. Needs more detail. You want people to focus on the head.

Not a fan of the large chaos symbol on its back but thats just me.

Currently collecting and painting Eldar from W40k.

Oh I wasnt expecting the thing to be doing a floor routine or anything OTT

Yea Id work on making the arms doing something. I had a shooty dred back when I played IW and just adjusting the gun arms a bit made all the difference. (and that was back with the UBER AWESOME all metal chaos dred lol)

Hi everyone!

Sorry for not posting anything new last week, but my order was late!

I've finally received it today, and I expect to be able to make the second chainfist soon.

Hi everyone!

At last, I've finished the conversion job on the dreadnought, he's now waiting for some paint.

Here are some new pics:

First: the right arm chainfist is done! I've used an ironclad right arm with claws and managed to resized the arm length so that the chainsaw could fit in. The arrows are still from slaanesh icons and the skulls from the soulgrinder. I tryed to make a proper twin linked bolter but after a few unlucky attempts I've finally decided to use the classic dread' stormbolter with a gargoyle head.
right arm chainfist

Second: I've finally decided to modify the exhaust stacks using those from the defiler sprue and to use a classic khorne icon (from the Bloodletters banner) and to place it on top of the hull.

I tryed to change the general position to give the model a more dynamic look, but since I couldn't change the head's position (to make him look in another direction) it was quite hard to do...

I will soon start to paint him, and I will probably need help and advice for this.

nice, well constructed, though i would suggest the stereo-typical bunny ears of khorne would make a great theme tier if your going with world eaters, but ether way its a convincing chaos dreadnought!
