Wednesday is my next 1k points game against a very experienced ork player.
His list changes from time to time (boys mobs with waaghboss and/or KFF bigmek in BWs, sometimes Lootas with footsloggin' boys and flanking koptaz, or even lots of 12 strong trukk boys...)

last time against this opponent I fielded a mono Tzeentch fun list and lost badly^^ (he almost wiped my army out)
This time I would like to field a more competative army to even stand a chance if we roll annihilation game again^^

What do you think will make it against his green menace?

I'm curious which HQ is the preferred you take in 1000 points games?

I like Soul Grinders very much against orks but at this low points it costs me too much bodies...
Will a Squad of 4-5 fully kitted out Bloodcrushers led by a Khorne Herald make it? or shall I replace them with a 6 strong squad of Slaanesh Beasts?
My Troops choices will be Plaguebearers + Horrors (Bloodletters are too fragile and slow, they will have to eat the orcish charge and die...)

Fight green smelly oafs with your green smelly oafs. Plague Bearers and Beast of Nurgle will chew through him. Orks hate working through T5 3+ (5++ and FnP are statistically a 66% save). Get a Great Unclean One or a Nurgle Daemon Prince with the Nurgle's Rot equivalent (that S2 AP- hit) and you should be fine against his hordes. I'd spring for the Great Unclean One for his increased wounds and save, but eh.

Then use your Tzeentchian elements to counter his armor and shooting units. Flamers will devour his Lootas, and some Horrors and/or Heralds with Bolt of Change will crack open his Trukks.

Sounds good,
GUO and Nurgleprince will be no problem, but I haven't got any Beasts of Nurgle, as they seemed like the weakest Elite Choice in an All Comers list.
Random Attacks and their really slow movement... (I'm the king in rolling s for Slow and Purposeful^^)

Flamers, fiends, or Grinder w/Phlegm should ruin his day.

Off the top of my head:

Herald of Tzeentch, chariot, breath 95
6 fiends 180
3 flamers 105
3 flamers 105
8 bloodletters 128
8 bloodletters 128
5 horrors, changeling 95
Grinder, phlegm 160

996 points of pure evil. 7 breath of chaos templates, 48 Str 5 power weapon attacks, 36 Str 5 rending attacks, and then you add in a grinder and the horrors.

Flamers are always nice against Orks (the Daemons or weapons actually).
Fiends can run down their Trukks or walkers.
If he goes heavy with Nobz, a Soulgrinder w/ Phlegm can insta-kill them. Actually a Soulgrinder is almost always helpful.
Plaguebearers are very hard to kill using pure dakka or overwhelming numbers of attacks thanks to T5 and FnP, same can be said for GUO especially since they get Defensive Grenades (CoF) for so cheap.

This list actually looks pretty awesome for killing orks. I would just replace the bloodletters with plaguebearers, as PB's will decimate anything that should be left after they take 7 flamer templates.

The idea with Breath of Chaos for the Tzeentch Herald is nice, I played the herald succesfully against nids and Tau with Bolt, I am Legion and Master of Sorcery on Chariot.
I'll try this out.
Do you think the Slaaneshbeasts kill enough orks to survive the strike of the orks after their attack?

They certainly should, at strength 5 I5 they should go first with around 4 or 5 attacks on the charge. Should kill quite a few.

Let's do a little mathhammer here =)

6 Slaaneshbeasts charge a 20 strong mob with Nob /w PK:
my Beasts have A5 in their statline so A6 on the Charge each:
Thats 36 Attacks, roll 4+ to hit = 18 hits, wound on 3+ = 12 wounds, against Armor Save = 10 dead orks
then the left orks attack:
9 Orks with 27 Attacks, hit on 3+ = 18 hits, wound on 5+ = 6 wounds, against Inv.Save = 2 dead beasts
1 Nob with PK has 3 Attacks, hits on 3+ = 2 hits, wounds on 2+ = 2 wounds, against Inv.Save = about 1-2 more wounds

I win the combat by 4-5, since the mob is not fearless anymore they test on Ld 5-6 and probably run away and are wiped out by sweeping advance because of my higher Initiative...

yes it should work

You have *no* idea. Never underestimate the power of a 5-wound jetbike with a flamer template that ignores armor.
