I've got to get the following built;
10 Khinerai (haven't decided between Lifetakers/Heartrenders yet)
1 Mega-Gargant (Gatecrasher)

And I've got to get a working Undead army drawn up as I just ordered an undead 1/2ling army from TTcombat.

Painting anything besides a basecoat is a Jan.2021+ project.

I've had grad school since August and put aside my paint brushes so I could focus on studying. Since I felt confident in the material and was up on my studying, I took some time to get some Warcry done. I split the Scions of the Flame with a friend who took the terrain and elf half. Decided on a Salamanders Theme with more dark brown skin rather than black. Had fun doing the flame effect.

Just did a test model for the Seraphon army I'm planning on starting soon. I've always loved the classic blue lizardmen look and so I'm going for that and have ordered some paints to help brighten up the blues a bit, and for the big beasties I'm planning on some more varied colour palettes. I had a lot of fun with the basing and I'm looking forward to some larger models where I can go more elaborate with it. I also realized I have several skinks I was given by a friend but not enough shields for them so I made a mould and have been slowly cranking out shields made of greenstuff and I'm pretty happy with the result now that I have one painted up.

Few rounds of Heroes of the Hinterlands, in which a knight-incantor was being harrassed by Nighthaunts - mostly Banshees who just wouldn't take no for an answer.

Ultimately a ladies man with standards, and certainly the man of the match!

Casual gaming, mostly solo-coop these days.

Picked up the second Season of Blood Bowl, using the Black Orc team as extra Ardboyz for my Ironjawz. I think I’ll use Varag Ghoulchewer as a warboss. While I was at Miniaturemarket today I saw they had one of the warcry Ironjawz boxes left. Grabbed that as well.

That brings my newest AOS army up to 1800 points.

Did just a bit of painting today, but got the full Black Orc team assembled as well as Varag and the troll, the ogre, Griff and half the human team done as well. I really love the character of the Go Lin’s from the Orc team.

Currently working on a Great Unclean One and finally finishing my Nurgle Start Collecting. I already had a box of plaguebearers done from the original plastic release, so now I have a nice little plague daemon army to mess around with. Eventually want to paint up my Stormcast Start Collecting for some Order vs. Chaos themed battles. Might add a couple of Beasts of Nurgle to the Plague Boys before then.

The GUO is a really wonderful model. So much character and a real pleasure to paint. Sat on my desk for ages because I was too intimidated to get going on it, but now that I've started I am really enjoying it.

The alarith really showed me where my mind draws the line;

Stone Mage: He's a wizard, wizards SHOULD be weird and flamboyant. If he didn't want to be noticed he wouldn't be on a carpet on a rock on a tree on some other rocks.

Battle Cattle: It's an immense construct inhabited by an elemental spirit. Symbolism and style matters as much as literal form when it comes to magic, and when push comes to shove it's a titanic ox-stone-man-thing that probably weighs a few dozen tons; it doesn't matter what it's shaped like.

Infantry: OMG WTF are those hats how do they do ANYTHING let alone fight.

But seriously, that nice crisp paint work goes very well with the models, a strong stylistic synergy so to speak.

Here's my progress on the Fatboi.

Lots of bits basically done now, horns and teeth need a wash, toenails and fingernails a highlight, need to dot out the eyes and weather the metal and cloth down, but the majority of the fleshy parts are completely done which is cool.

I love the bellymouth so I used it, rather than the guts. I think it looks awesome.

The base is a mixture of superglue and pva with patches of milliput and tentacles from this kit and the spawn kit as well as some eyeballs. It's gonna get a light grey undercoat and a heavy white drybrush and then a purple wash to create a sort of Realm of Chaos effect that I really like. Eyes will be painted out in vivid orange for counterpoints.

Lovely model, so much fun to paint and really easy to make it look good.

When the kit first came out I was really disappointed with the price. It took a bit to allocate funds but I did end up getting one. I was wrong. It is so worth it, such a fantastic kit in so many ways. Looking forward to seeing your completed rendition of it!

I was also really not sure about the price. The Great Unclean One has been my favourite Greater Daemon ever since I read the disgusting description of it in the 2e Codex Imperialis, and I have always enjoyed all the different versions of the model.

But I kinda chickened out on getting one for ages.

Then, with the pandemic, I wanted to support my local shop by buying something, and I figured feth it, what better to go for than the Greater Daemon of Plague. The guy behind the counter thought it was pretty funny.

I really had to psyche myself up to assemble it, and then it sat for months just undercoated and washed on my painting desk. But now that I have started it I am having great fun and although I know my paintjob won't be perfect, the model is actually very forgiving to work on.

I've been paying my Greywater Fastness Army and have come across dilemma pertaining to painting yellow. I tried following the book method which is Averland and followed by a wash of Cassandra Yellow and then doing a layer of Averland followed by an edge highlight of Dorn Yellow. The result for me takes far too much time do to having to carefully use three different washes and the effect is a yellow that feels far too bright for my taste and too orange.

The other is a mustard route that uses constant use of a mix of XV88 and Yriel yellow which gives a more grim dark feel and feels to me quicker and less messy. Now however having painted several in the new fashion I am at a weird point where I feel like I should do something about the models painted in the old style as they look too different from that unified look I want

My issue atm is more so wither I should repaint that old style or keep it as is. The mustard way I like a lot and is probs my favorite way to paint yellow so far.

Would it represent a huge expenditure of effort to repaint just the yellow parts on the old models?
If so, maybe the brighter-yellow guys are "fresh" and/or more elite and thus more clean? To give a little story to why they're less grimy looking

Have you tried going the contrast method? You can get really easy yellows using the Contrast basecoats and those paints. Did it for my spiderfang army and it was a treat.

Gorgeous Bonereapers! Wasn't a huge fan of the model designs but you've made them look spectacular.

My GUO is nearly done, just need to glue on his flail. Very happy with the "realm of chaos" base on him, all my Daemons are based like that and it is a big departure from my usual "Earth and Grass" basing.

My undead 1/2lings from TTCombat have arrived! (So says the tracking #)
So starting very soon I'll be painting 1/2ling skeletons, 1/2ling mummies, 1/2ling zombies, 1/2ling ghouls, undead 1/2ling knights on ghost ponies....

The goal will be minimum 1k points in 10 weeks (by March 4th) as that's when the shops AoS escalation league begins. 1k pts will give me enough of a cushion to start with.

Hmm, I think it wouldn't be too hard to go back and redo it with a paint over with light coats to redo it.

Having them be fresh or elite would be a cool idea but the color difference in the yellow is too different and wouldn't give off a fresh vs faded look.
