Well i allways hate these awkward first posts but here it is. . . Hey Dakka community!  I'm a relatively new 40k player (Only a few weeks in!) whose just begun collecting a fledgling tyranid army. Looking forward to browsing through the posts to get some inspiration for a colour scheme as still experimenting with mine at the minute. The site looks like quite a helpful resource and cant wait to get some pictures up of my up and coming 'Nids.
Anyway, very glad to be joining the community!!

'ello, welcome to dakka dakka. My friend who I often play with uses nids. He usualyl has a whitish colour and uses orangey on the scales. If you want I can try and get some pics of his stuff next time we play?

If you could take the time to get a few snaps that would be quite helpful! It sounds like an interesting scheme. Currently i'm still chopping and changing mine so all my little 'gaunts stick out like sore thumbs. Allready finding some useful inspiration around the galleries on here however

The army profile section might have some 'nids in there, too. I love the brightly colored schemes... makes me think "bug" even more

Yeah i'm definately gearing more toward the brighter colours when painting, the whole "realistic" approach of darker colours isn't really my thing. From seeing other darker painted armies they just dont seem to stand out that well or have that "Wow" factor.
Is the army profiles in the articles section by the way? i cant seem to find it on the forums.
in terms of my avatar, if you've ever had a seagul assault you over a bag of chips at the seaside then you'd know how happy birds get over em

It's fine, I'm seeing the nid guy and a couple others to play a big 4 way in 2 days so I'll snap some shots. They'll probably be bad quality off my phone but ay well.

There should be an Army Profiles tab at the top of this very page, fourth from the left (just to the right of Articles, and just to the left of your username).
The avatar makes sense now, thanks
