I love the old school art from these books.

I just found these in my old stuff.

I love the dark, gothic, old time feel of the art. Really brings the feeling of the imperium into perspective...it reminds me of Stephen Gammel's art from these books...(which are amazing, btw.)

Sold everything.

Old time? Sure. Dark and gothic? Um... what? It's kinda brightly colored and silly looking, tbqh. Throw some backwards Rs onto the second one and it could be Red propaganda. Also, Stephen Gammell's art is nothing like that, as his art consistently scares the ever-living **** out of me. x_X

Yes, they are good, but the Land Speeder looks like a pair of flying cinema seats. And that Chaplain is scary.

Lucky for you, they're 2nd ed pics, not RT. You've been spared much of the horror that was John Blanche's art equivalent of a 39 minute drum solo.

Back in GWs red period (or their blood angel period, anyway).

The landspeeder did get a newer version for that edition (and then the DAngels got a more goffik looking one - with an angel and assault cannon on it.)

I'm OVER 50 (and so far over everyone's BS, too).
Old enough to know better, young enough to not give a ****.

That is not dead which can eternal lie ...

... and yet, with strange aeons, even death may die.

I absolutely love the first image you posted - John Blanche's box art for the 2nd ed starter set of 40k. If I could have that framed and put on my wall, I would.
