I agree, but I don't like the whole new BA winged look wich has never been mentioned before.. ever. :\ It makes no sense.

I went into a GW store yesterday and was asked if I liked the new BA and responded that I was not impressed and nor were many people I knew. I think I may have given the guy a heart attack at the lack of love for the terribleness of the new models

The wings just looks a bit silly IMO.

I think they look fine. Assembling them, well, I have a few choice words to say about that experience....

What the deal with the wings anyway? Are they real, mechanical, ornamental, what? I mean, sure Sanguinius had wings. He got mutated. Having a whole chapter full of winged dudes is pretty much Heresy.

The wings are laughable.

The BA are becoming a parody.

And judging from the Codex the main creator/writer is a BA fanboy that has taken a look at the SW Codex and thought "Anything they can do I can do better!" with regards to fluff, units and rules. Any sensible BA player should be shaking their head at what a mess it is. But I can't see many taking that point of view.

Well, I have a large BA faction from the 3rd ed.
But I never will field a BA model with these kind of wings.
They look terrible.

at least the ones with wings are a sub-par unit anyway

I guess I'm in the minority then. I guess i like how they make the soldiers look very angelic, especially with the gold making them look very... angel-like.

Maybe this is some group-think going on here...

Painted as worn metal and I find the wings alright, if somewhat corny.
Painted as white or black feathery wings and damn, they look slowed.

wings on power armour can look cool, not SM power armour though.

They look a lot better with the wings removed. Painted in anything other than gold, and they'd be fairly decent.

On a whole though, the gaudiness of the designs and the writings of the BA make them more of a joke than anything else. A stupidly overpowered joke, but a joke none-the-less.

I don't love them but I don't mind them that much either. I agree feels a bit like group-think in the reactions.

The wings are meant to be ornamental. They aren't really winged dudes (someone asked a few posts up).

I'm going to glue the wings onto thunder wolves and have marines riding winged blood wolves!

Seriously, as bland as Codex: Dark Angels was, I think I preferred it when GW was still drug-testing their developers.

I got to play a game with my sanguinary guard and my opponent said I couldnt deep strike my guard because it was impossible for them to touch because of the wings.

I hope he was kidding. Nid Gargoyles have the same issues.

There is actually a single engine jump pack on the back of the Sanguinary Guard. The wings are mechanical in construct and help stabilize flight.

Wow, I am sorry to hear that. Anyways as far as the wings go, I kinda like them. They should only be used on say one model or two, not a squad. Its not like the wings are going on my models.

I think they look cool. Sue me. And the nipples on the musculata torso are a reference to ancient Greece and Roman armor forms. Grow up. Quit tittering at nipples, you 7 year olds. We all have them, for feth's sake.

I want the BA Winged Jump Packs for My Grey Knights if they get Jump Packs in their next Codex.

It's the rest of the OTT figs I mostly dislike. Marines so ripped their knees have abs!!
