I've been thinking about starting Necromunda for a while now and even though I have absolutely no one to play with/against, I've seen a lot of great Necromunda gangs here on Dakka, so I thought I would create my own - just for the hell of it.
My gang are based off a unit from my IG army - a technically fairly advanced army - that has become trapped deep in the bowels of Necromunda Hive after the "Doorway" (warp portal) they were using destabilized the hive where they materialized, trapping them within. The fluff regarding the warp portal etc can be found in the 3rd post of this thread.
The unit is on an exploratory mission, using the Pandora's Spiral (see fluff thread) to hop about the universe/dimensions/warp, to seek out new life and new civilizations; to boldly go where no man has gone bef... wait... not quite They are looking for new tech, routes to enemy positions, new resources - anything the Argentum Group can exploit - for the good of the Imperium of course.
Anyway, to introduce the gang:
Unit Leader Sil O'Neill - M - Leader - Chainsword, Plasma Gun (215)
Sub Leader Pitys Echo - F - Ganger - Lasgun, Autopistol (90)
Trooper FC Syrinx Tyche - F - Ganger - Lasgun (75)
Trooper FC Clio Erato - F - Ganger - Lasgun (75)
Trooper FC Notos Erinyes - M - Ganger - Lasgun (75)
Trooper FC Zephyr Pontus - M - Ganger - Lasgun (75)
Specialist Asclepius Eros - M - Heavy - Heavy Stubber, Autopistol (195)
Specialist Bia Aeolos - M - Heavy - Heavy Stubber, Autopistol (195)
To represent the fact that these are all guardsmen initially (they have just arrived and carved themselves a small niche in the underhive after realising they can't return to the 1st AGDR when any campaign starts), I have decided not to include any juvies in the gang, though locals will be recruited as things progress.
Some WIP mugshots:
The Whole gang
Unit Leader Sil O'Neill
Sub Leader Pitys Echo - she needs the front of her armour re-sculpting
Specialist Asclepius Eros
Specialist Bia Aeolos
Trooper FC Notos Erinyes
So, thoughts?

There are so many munda gangs popping up. It's very exciting, as I rather like a smaller game better - more attention to detail.
This unit is looking pretty good. What did you use for the Bia Aeolos' backpack?

Yeah, that is one of the reasons that I am interested in it - that and I can possibly actually paint an entire "army" for it

It is the rear section of a searchlight - I think from either the IG or SM vehicle sprue - with the foot/base cut off. There will be a power/interface feed between the backpack and the gun eventually where the two join/come close.

I've managed to finish building these guys now, and primed/base coated them - will add pictures later as it is too dark now.
Does anyone have any comments on the gang list? Some feedback would be great (both on the list and the models ).

Looking good. Surely though, an inter dimensional warp device capable of destablaizing an entire hive, has certain....possibilities....?
Just imagining them as an over arching antagonists in a campaign, threatening to collapse the whole hive etc etc

Haha, unfortunately the device is pretty random where it sends people (there are a seemingly infinite number of doors in the spiral, each leading to a different place or dimension. Some are small dimensions just the size of a room, some lead to the 40k universe (not always in the current time frame either, just to be extra confusing )).
My fluff was going to be that the device itself did not destabilize the hive, the doorway opened partially inside some delicate and dangerous machinery, which promptly exploded, bringing down a large section of the hive, killing several members of the unit (not to mention hivers ), and blocking them off from both the doorway location, and the upper hive.

Unfortunately doorways can only (as far as the AGC know and very much hope ) be opened from within the spiral. Although I am sure that a lot of people in the hive will be looking for anyone who caused part of the hive to collapse and have a few... words Not to mention the machine cult wanting to know how they appeared, etc... lots of possibilities.

They are using Delaque at the moment
And I would say that at the start of the campaign they have just gone through the doorway and been trapped, so they have not been in the hive for long.
They are used to the possibility of being stranded, so they would not abandon hope of returning. They would probably carve out a small empire within the hive and declare it for the company to be honest. They would work at getting through to a space port/etc so they can contact the company and get them to either pick them up, or to come and officially "move into" the underhive territory they have carved out
Company loyalty is instilled in members pretty much from birth; perhaps more so than loyalty to the Emp :O

A lot of the models look like their parts are heavily damaged, and there are a lot of mold lines. Also I am not a fan of a back banner on a Technical Retrieval Unit. Makes zero sense to me.
Other than that, looks good, I like Necromunda gangs.

Some were damaged attempts at stripping paint (it is the reason I chose them for this rather than keeping them in my IG army). The rest were misc parts I wanted to use up from my bits box. I removed mould lines on most of them, as well as trimming off the worst of the damage after these pictures were taken. Those were just the preliminary stage.
Now they are primed they look OK - the damaged sections that remain just look like dirt/battle damage.
And yes, the banners don't really fit too much; I was kind of thinking they use the old British tactic of planting flags on anything they want to claim
I like the look of the one on the leader, but as you say, they don't really fit the theme. Good catch - I will think about removing them.

If you want banners for planting, have a look at the Catachan command sprue. There's someone carrying a rolled up banner that looks like it's ready to be planted in a claim spot.
The one thing I would say is that Pitys' censor looks a little bit anti-gravity to me. Either make it look like it's swinging, or have it dropping straight down to the ground.
Now you've started talking about Necromunda, I realised that I've actually written the Junos background to be an interesting alternative to Necromunda (not that I have a necromunda group to play with either). I may have to see if I can flesh it out a bit...

I think that might just be the angle the picture is taken from - it is hanging pretty much straight down when you look at it in the flesh (from what I can rememner - I will check when I get home ).
I'm not so fussed about having flags, though I may have a look, just in case.
Perhaps this is the start of a Necromunda revolution? There are a lot of threads about it recently

Hey Silver, looks like a good start, and some nice work on the fluff. Models are looking good, but don't forget about the bases!!
You didn't happen to take the servitor idea from a certain someone's thread did you?
List looks solid as far as i can see, you've got a good core and should be able to lay down some serious firepower.
Overall, well done! Automatically Appended Next Post: Oh yeah, forgot to say i agree about all of the great Necromunda gangs showing up. Really cool to see some alternative things showing up on dakka.

Don't worry, the bases will be done soon enough
And the servitor may have been swiped in part from a certain thread by a certain person, though I mostly included it because I was not going to use the model for anything else
