Probably is premature and many basic issue intrinsic in the units could still plague the faction but... Kelly you hack fraud you did it. This looks at least something interesting. *cries* I am 15 years old again! Also, all hail Veteran Noob. Automatically Appended Next Post: lord_blackfang wrote:Sounds like a nice release. Yes, but it looks at least as something made by someone looking back at the old 3.5 codex. My expectation were so low, that I am for the first time at least intrigued.

Well, if veteranoob is accurate, it seems nurgle has drawn the best straw YET AGAIN.
FFS guys at GW, stop making nurgle the best choice all the time. nobody actually likes him beyond his power level....
Also, FAQ takes the worries off the horrors. they will NOT split into more objsec, and they lost daemonology-so they are not any better than before, possibly even worse.
They now serve the purpsoe they are SUPPOSED to serve, being batteries and providing a screening horde for your actual army, rather then serving as a clown car.

Poor TS, their one and only bonus requires both a psyker and a successful psychic test.
Thousand Sons are the indisputable masters of the psychic phase. Nurgle are kings of not dying and heavy weapons. EC are similar to Nurgle, but a bit less so and need to pay the icon tax. The best they have going for them is the formation bonus, which will make most of the army just Noise Marines. Automatically Appended Next Post: bubber wrote:Hi Mr VeteranNoob

Nurgle is loved by painters as well because of the possibilities with washes, simple or complex highlighting techniques, layers and well executed blends to render the bloated bodies/decomposition/bubonic stuff/watever, and technicals for rust and decay.
Also, FW models for plague marines and terminators are quite good.

Hmmm, which Legion would I get? It would Thousand Sons or Emperor's Children, I think. Probably Thousand Sons since their new models look fantastic.
Too bad I have way too many Space Marine armies as is, so there is pretty much zero chance of me getting either.

Veterannoob,
I know you said that TS are exactly like WoM, but I am wondering if you missed something. Can they take any of the generic 8 formations which the other legions can take such as the Chaos warband (obsec would be great!). Also can the Scarab Terminators be taken in place of regular terminators in cases like Terminator Annhiliation formation?
Im a huge TS fan and Im kind of dissapointed in that the only way for me to get Obsec is via CAD. Horrors are great and all but Id rather not have to buy a crap ton of them to be competitive. At this point, Ill just play CAD thousand sons and wait until our codex gets updated.

Better is subjective unless you're Dorn. In terms of the behavior their legions exhibited, the Imperial Fists would conquer a world, fortify it, leave a garrison, and move on to the next world. Whereas the Iron Warriors would raze a world to the ground.

Let me explain that thing.
The rule existed because the lores only had 3 spells each, so a ML3 psyker could be 100% sure he would have all the spells, and GW's current design paradigm is that you are not allowed to be sure which powers you will have, Primaris aside.
Now that the lores have been updated to the full 6 spells each, there is no reason for the limitation and it was lifted.

Fleshmetal exoskeleton (30) armor 2+ + gains IWND; this is invulnerable or armor?
Also some items for example:
Hyrda’s Teeth (15) bolter gets blast, ignore cover, poison 2+;
And
Bolts of ecstatic vexation (15) bolt weapons gain blast, ignores cover and pinning;

VeteranNoob, thanks for all the info - I've got a few questions about my favorite legion.
On the Poxwalker Hive, just to be clear, it's stating the cultists can't run or shoot but gain fearless and FNP(6+)? So basically 20 points to become plague zombies instead of paying the Typhus tax? Also confused why it says they have to be within 7" to get FNP, but also says they get FNP and Fearless but cant shoot or run the rest of the game. Do they just get infected and then go on their way?
On a separate note, im wondering what people think about how to run Death Guard terminators? The FNP is obviously a boon, but Fearless is probably the key thing, especially for 3 man squads. Haven't played in a long while(2-3 years), are people still doing 3 man combi melta suicide squads? Combi plasma?
How do people forsee the impact of terminators and obliterators changing now with FNP and Fearless?

You can never beat your first time. The second generation is shinier, stronger, faster and superior in every regard save one, and it's an unfair criticism to level, but it simply can't be as original. - Andy Chambers, on the evolution of Games Workshop games |

Thanks for answering my question about Alpha Legion's shrouded. Now that I've slept on it, I have some more.
First, is the Alpha Legion bonus for Cultists regenerating a formation benefit? Seems odd if it is due to the cultist formation already having that.
Second is a little bigger. Can you clarify exactly what bonuses require units of certain size, and do they go away if the unit drops below that mark?

Hey VeteranNoob, was still wondering if any of the Relics have clauses like "Warpsmith-Only", "Cannot be taken by a Daemon Prince", etc. I'd like to know if I can give Combat Drugs to a Slaaneshi-Prince as a giant chem-lab experiment for example, or so.
Also, if the Word Bearers WL trait for an extra Psychic Mastery level can be used on a vehicle character, for that Psychic Dreadnought Chaos has been wanting for awhile. :>
