I'm wondering if anyone has run a Sentinel Heavy Apocalypse List, and if so how effective was it?

I've never done it but it might be worth a shot. You'd get to field multiple sentinels without having to put them in squadrons. They'de work well for mobile cover. For 35pts, the standard sentinel would be useful for tar pitting. If it explodes even better eat strength 3 hits xeno scum!

Uhh iv highly considered it, and it mighht be a pretty bad ass idea. think of it as a heavy weapons team with an armour value. just avoid lascannons, as any hit from one will almost always slay a sentinal outright.

I think apoc is the only time I'd consider doing this.

Sentinels are usually bad choices, and taking lots and lots of them is an even worse choice. The whole point of apoc, though, is to be able to do massive things that aren't usually viable.

They really are cheap. If you have an empty FA slot, 35 points for a fast moving multilaser could be really annoying and distracting. Do they let you run that multilaser round to get some rear armor shots or pick off their heavy weapons, or do they spend time trying to shoot down 35 points instead or your 200 point Russ.

I can see how if they were all seperate targets, you might be able to overwhelm your opponents' ability to shoot them - but that goes straight out the window if you're facing any of those ganrly, ridiculously huge apocalypse templates.

Eldar Corsairs: 4000 pts
Imperial Guard: 4000 pts

Corregidor 700 pts
Acontecimento 400 pts

Those template cost a huge amount of points, you should have enough sentinels to shrug off loosing a dozen or so sentinels every turn.

lol.

We need an apocalypse special character that gives sentinels "send in the next wave!"

I have always wanted to try out the armoured sentinel apocalypse formation geared for super-heavy hunting, simply because it sounds so awesome. It's just nearly impossible to gather all the sentinels required. If you use it, let me know how it goes.

Hey the game ended with three people actually showing up so we just played a few games without the force org chart. The sentinels worked great as a distraction in the game against my death wing buddy but the Necron girl in our group just ignored them.

what do you mean by ignored them? You could have used them to tarpit necron warriors or other sucky CC units for the rest of the entire game if you played them agressively. Sentinels are best used agressively, they are not really effective at standing and shooting compared to other IG vehicles, due to poor armour and high cost to firepower ratio if you want to equip them properly.
