love the forums, great info for a new guy like me.

I started playing 40k in last 89 with the old rogue trader manual, very complex and frankly looking back it was a **** poor by todays standards, space marine, eldar, tyranids and genestealer cult armies i played. Around 95 stopped playing due to it costing to much and being 'too cool' for it. My girlfriend kept watching me staring into the window of GW stores and brought me a box set of guardsmen for christmas, paints etc. hooked again now, since the rules are great now, only played 2 games against a mate and got my ass handed to me but i its great. I can't lie right now, i am a bit obsessed and need to back away from the paintbrush :/

Its kinda funny. You stopped in '95 thats about when I started 40k. You are old school! The system back in rogue trader was convoluted but the fluff was amazing.

For Byte they did have psychic powers on cards that was for the dark millenium supplement back in the 90's.

yeh, the fluff was unreal, the next version up was a massive step. I couldn't believe it, no voxtex grenades being brought to the battlefield now! (thank god for the lack of wargear like the old days, some guy with terminator armour and 3+ unmodified save for a displacer field? I think it was, was virtually invinicle and could slice through any army). Plus another reason i started was i live 5 minutes drive from warhammerworld so its easy to get a decent game. (I have no idea it was even there till christmas time).
