Hello everyone. Some of you might have noticed me being here already, but I wanted to wait with an introduction until I had a look on the site and all... And it has been better than I expected!
So, my name is Martin. I'm Swedish, and began playing Fantasy somewhere in 2001 I think it was, although I had bought some minis even earlier (though without having any idea what it was!).
I'm studying to become a baker, and enjoy GW's games due to the painting, the gaming and the fluffyness of it all.
Currently not 100% sure about what team to play, I've been leaning towards GK's, Tzeentch, Eldar or Orks... Although right now I'm pretty much looking at my kinda large Necron force that has been lying in their box the last few years.
So that's me in short. I'm always open for a chat about just about anything, both within the hobby and about other things. However I do not enjoy conversations about weather, we swedes have abused that subject for years when we can't find anything interesting to speak of.

Actually, Thousand Sons were the first 40K models I bought after getting to know a friend whom actually played. They were so different back then, though. =P
Anyhow, it's strongly leaning towards Dark Eldar for now, I hope their new codex and models come out soon. All release date guesses are confusing me! =o

What is there to hate with Tzeentch? Extremely potent Anti-heavy infantry firepower and high resiliense... Well, of course one wouldn't be too happy to face them though. xD
And the Dark Eldar, fast-moving with excelent anti-light infantry as well as several anti-vehicle/heavy-infantry weapons.
Both teams looking completely awsome on the tabletop, the Tzeentch with their ornate egyptian-inspired armours in the colours of the greatest nation of earth (Sweden!!) and the Dark Eldar with their intemidating dark colours and spikynessyness.
However, after reading through the Tau Codex I'm almost feeling like getting myself a Tau force... I always hated them for having such awsome wargear but having just 3 bs, but then I noticed the Markerlight, and I've always liked their tanks.
Although I love Chaos' tanks too, it's like Spacemarines with naughty spikes on them! I love how the DE vehicles looks, but I'm not really a fan of fragile vehicles. =s (Especially not a raider full of Warriors that could be brought down by a well-put bolter shot >.< )

My brother plays Tau and i like the army. i could never bring myself to play them however. their style seems too passive to me and about 65% of their units are hardly usable.
I can tell you now that CSM marines are incredibly fun to play and paint with their straight forward gaming style, and that DE are a great army if you want to use lots of thinking in your games and if you want to challenge yourself (if you make one bad move with your DE it could mean game) i like having both armies because they have essentially opposite playing styles so its fun to be able to switch around

Well I agree that Tau has some units that I really don't think would be nescessary. I mean, sure, stealthsuits may be usefull in some situations, but the main thing about Tau as far as I can tell is to get a markerlight hit on the target and blast it down with Hammerheads and Seeker Misiles whilst the troops can pick down most infantry in ranged combat, and as I'm kinda stuck in the tactica of using the Skimmer Tanks to stand before the Firewarriors so that the enemy needs to make a leadership test to shoot at the infantry (especially as neither Lasguns or Bolters can harm a Devilfish).
However I do HATE the XV88 suits, the broadsides may be alright but.. They looks completely and uttermost silly. a Square head on a big chunk with bird-like talon/feet with goat-like legs. And as the Commander is 1+ meaning I need one, and can't pick an Etheral instead, I'd have to get one. >.< So I'm really torn between DE and Tau, impatient as I am I can't wait until DE get their new codex either (the guys at BoW guessed they will come by Christmas or so, and here summer just broke out so the thought of waiting for Winter again would ruin my summer!)

just order the DE battle force from http://www.chaosorc.com for cheaper then GW and get the dex for 5 bucks when new models come out you wont have a huge force to replace, and you can sorta get a feel for what you got
