These are outstanding! I really really like where you are going with each model, and get the feeling that each one has background to it.

My favorite so far has to be the "freeing the spirit" piece. Really high level of realism there.

Thanks guys. Leaves are actually birch tree seed pods. I collect them in the fall and let them dry out and then open them up.

That troll looks fantastic. Everything gels together exceptionally well.

Have to say that your skills are very impressive, even if I am not such a fan of some of the models you are painting

Thanks for the kind words.

As for the models, everybody can't like everything. I personally don't care for the majority of GW line. But even said this I do have some GW Snipers that I have been meaning to finish up.

I really enjoyed painting this one. Lots of practice with NMM. Back shots will be up later. I noticed a spot that needed touchup when editing the photos.

Do you sculpt your own models, or use pre-made ones?

I love that someone on here paints Reaper and doesn't think it's some sort of heresy to look at a non-GW miniature.

I LOVE Reaper miniatures for RPG characters and such, especially because GW characters are completely overpriced.

I even bought some of their Elf miniatures for my 20 year old GW Wood Elf army, seeing as how the GW range has changed SO much since then.

However, buying "rank and file" Reaper miniatures can be expensive, and some of their miniatures leave me a little confused as to how something so strange/ugly could come from a company that produces such great miniatures. Of course, the same can be said for many companies, especially GW.

What I find works best, at least for me, is to buy "Rank and File" from GW, and then purchase characters/heroes from Reaper. They actually compliment each other nicely at times.

Amazing work on your miniatures as well. I have posted a few of my miniatures, but the camera and posting process has really taken away a lot of their color. Going to have to try a different method.

I can still remember when a box of 30 Space Marines was $30.00. Now THAT'S old school! In fact, I started playing in the Rogue Trader days...yes, I am that old. Played Warhammer Fantasy for years before Rogue Trader even came out...

6,800 Pts. Ultramarines, 1,500 Pts. Deathwatch, 1,000 Pts. Black Templars, 1,000 Pts. Blood Ravens, 1,000 Pts. Emperors Children, 2,000 Pts. Word Bearers, 3,500 Pts. Yeah they really are two different games all in all. I prefer Reaper mainly because of the level of detail and the "realism" the figures have. This does not go for all of their lines but they hit the scale more or less. Some are quite poor, like one of the figs bicep was larger then the figures head. But I don't find that happen too often with them.

Reaper has a bunch of modelers so if you find a mini you like, you can sort through the mini's done by that modeler.

Your painting is very neat and colours well thought out. I wouldn't say your pro yet but you definitely seem to have a lot of experience. Great stuff.
