I'm unusual, I paint rather than sit glued to the PS3 and TV most of the time. I try to get in at least 2 hours of painting time a day, so anywere from 14-18 hrs a week usually.

I'd have to average myself at <1hr/week, so I'm in the "rarely" half of "never/rarely." Sometimes, I'll go for a few weeks without touching brush to model, other times I'll have several hours spread over a few days. At least I pretty consistently do some modeling/terrain work, even if I'm not painting my significant backlog of models.

I'd like to paint more, but I can never seem to find a time where I have A) an uninterrupted block of time that I can do some serious painting, B) a day with low enough humidity that I can prime more models (don't really have any space to do it inside, even if I rigged up a cardboard spray booth), and C) hands that aren't shaking violently so I trust myself to lay down anything but the simplest basecoat.

I like having painted models, I like being the one who has painted them, and I've been satisfied with my small body of work to date, but I just can't seem to get into a painting groove. Kind of like that whole exercising thing I've been meaning to get back into. I'll do a few pull-ups every now and then when I pass my housemate's bar-in-the-door and I walk a decent bit to/from class, work, the corner store, etc. but I just can't seem to start a routine.

I normally spend around 2 - 3 hours of painting time a day , however this will probably be changing soon as i am taking a diploma in construction which will also eat up a lot of spare time that i have at the moment.

Having just moved to a new area, started a new job and having two little guys (two years and five months) at home it's kind of difficult right now to set aside a dedicated portion of time to painting. But once we all get into more of a routine I'm sure that will change.

YO DAKKA DAKKA!

My answer is 'not enough'. I tend to binge-paint when I do at all, but have not for some months now other than a few half-hour sessions.

Hi Legoburner,

I get a lot of time to paint, never timed myself but I reckon it's over 2 hours a night so guestimated 15 hours a week. Painting is very therapeutic to me. I only get to game 1nce a week, so it's actually most of the hobby for me, that and hanging around DakkaDakka and other 40K forums

I selected "Don't/Rarely" because it comes in bursts.

Sometimes I'll get a week where I go "I really should get that unit of veterans done" and put it ~10 hours, but sometimes I'll get a week where I just have a lot of homework, or have to help my brother with something, or whatever.

Different from week to week, sometimes when I have schoolwork to do I don't paint at all, while sometimes I paint almost all the time. But the average is about 6 hours

Count me in the <1 hour/week group. It's not that I don't enjoy painting; I do. I also have lots of free time in which I could be painting. It's just that I have trouble finding the motivation, so I've got a big backlog.

In the Webway.

I voted 6-15 hours. But it really depends when I have the models to paint. I'll start assembling and painting models pretty much as soon as I've got home after buying them. I don't normally paint them to a finished level all at once but instead spread it out over a few days.

I sometimes also go back and repaint models that I'd painted many years ago, when I wasn't so good at painting. All that it mind, when I have models on the go, it is probably around 6-15 hours a week.

I paint the same way as you. When I finally pull myself together to paint once a month(sometimes even rarer), I do it for the most of a day, and often untill past noon the next day to finish what I started.
