Truer words have never been spoken.

Because of these reasons some people commit suicide over whats written to/about them on the internet; but then again if you haven't developed a thick hide the internet is not for you nor is life unfortunately. Especially sucks for the likes of politicians but many have it coming like Dan Quayle's infamous 'potatoe' incident.
Hell, one of the first photoshopped images that floated around forums went something like: "Arguing on the internet is like running in the special olympics. If you're win you're still _______." Yes I'm being relatively PC.
Arguments only seem to be perpertrated by those who seem to have the energy to argue if you just shrug it off and think "Gee that was nice but moving on"
They dont call me Garybrandy for nothing!
how is it off topic? we hardly know what the topic even is!

So i ask peoples opinion on this matter?
Stick around mate, this is a very nice forum.
In many ways it reminds me of going to the FLGS for a late game. Crude at times (YAY!) yet still full of good times and laughs. All in all there is a very consistent balance on this forum in particular. You will see people with one arm, two arms, three arms, and yes I dare-say FOUR FREAKING ARMS....
If you get out and talk to as many people as you can at some point, you would be hard pressed to find the same rational conversations you find in some of these forums. Trolls are nocing', they are funny little fluorescent green monsters who like to whisper in your ear. I am a pretty big fan of the squish on sight method, but that is not very PC... erm, or something.
It is very important to note that much more often than not people can get along just peachy, but on occasion there will be some serious aggressions being spit into peoples eyes. When this happens, it is usually an internet tough guy (we all fall in this category from time to time...), or super-nerd possibly TFG guy who starts it. For most you SHOULD ignore them, but on occasion you are more than welcome to report them to the Mods for appraisal, or you can try to take your conversation to the P.M. box instead of cluttering the thread with a useless argument.
In general, keep in mind that you are talking to people (I attempt to talk as I would in life... not very easy to get the same message across though ) and everyone has feelings... besides the hardest of the... nope he is crying now too . So have fun, avoid pointless arguments about who has the nicest shoes, and just share your opinions as often as you want. On this same note, if you are wrong... please just say so, there is no need to fight someone who is right, but on the other hand there is no reason for people to run around peeing on everyone's opinions.
All interactions on the webz seem to be relatively similar to real life, just the people happen to be out of LOS, so they do not worry about... nocing. Pretty human reaction if you ask me, but your responsibility to your personal integrity does play a role in this. Sure, you can ignore someone, or you can ignore someone... ("or... you can... be quiet man... you can drop silly bombs and just do a fancy jig... with a funny hat and tazers... hmmm, not a bad idea "
Who likes Lordi? This is my favorite song of theirs... yeah it is a bit cheesy.... BRING ME THE CHEESE!!!

Wrex's posts are so brilliant and witty... sometimes.
I've got to say this is one of the better forums I've been on. People are usually nicer and far more forgiving than elsewhere. However there are always people you don't get along with. Fact of life. For these you press 'ignore'.
To quote the Channel 4 show, Peep Show: "I'm cancelling out of shame, like my subscription to White Dwarf"
Thanks people are now staring at me at work for laughing.

That's not why they stare at you.
The poor man really has a stake in the country. The rich man hasn't; he can go away to New Guinea in a yacht. The poor have sometimes objected to being governed badly; the rich have always objected to being governed at all
We love our superheroes because they refuse to give up on us. We can analyze them out of existence, kill them, ban them, mock them, and still they return, patiently reminding us of who we are and what we wish we could be.

INTERNET GETTING YOU DOWN??! Sounds like somebody needs cheering up!
Oh, and on topic: Dakka is fine, usual gak on every forum, just alot less of it.
You learn to ignore people after a while, or argue with them, both work well, but the 1st is possibly the best option.
Just dont argue with Frazz.
age has addled his brain and has sent him to the edge, now he's simply a gibbering mess.

Suffused with the dying memories of Sanguinus, the warriors of the Death Company seek only one thing: death in battle fighting against the enemies of the Emperor.
In truth, none of it matters. I'm hated here, but I still get tolerated. Nothing you say on the internet matters, nothing at all, because you have no set identity on the net. You can be anyone.
For example, I could in fact be Hitler from an alternate universe who found his way into the future and took up trolling instead of killing people.
People are like dice, a certain Frenchman said that. You throw yourself in the direction of your own choosing. People are free because they can do that. Everyone's circumstances are different, but no matter how small the choice, at the very least, you can throw yourself. It's not chance or fate. It's the choice you made.
Dude... where is the part about my brain exploding after reading this part though?
Although anonymity tends to amplify dissociative imagination, dissociative imagination and dissociative anonymity usually differ in the complexity of the dissociated part of oneself. Under the influence of anonymity, the person may try to be invisible, to become a non-person, resulting in a reducing or simplifying of identity. During dissociative imagination, the self that is expressed, but split-off, tends to be more elaborate.
It... ummm.. erm... ummm.. what? Humm, and, so, if they, but how? My brain... omfg my brain... it burns...
Okay... I think my brain sponge is wrapped around this one now... just read it like 12 times... it will make a bit of sense then.

i agree with everything said on this thread(except the tyranid on the beach) but i have been laughed at for my spelling in school but not so much here. this forum is one of the best. the mods are good(btw ty to frazz for getting my thread blocked it got a wee bit out of hand)
Dakkadakka is pretty okay. I have to take periodic breaks from posting in OT because the aggressiveness of some of the arguments annoys me, but for the most part it's fine.
