I think MGS needs a field execution. He's too corrupted now.

I like it. It looks like a lesser Malanthrope adapted to a support role. Which is very niddy.
However, I do hope that it only comes packaged with the Trygon as a plastic kit piece. Because something like that, as metal...ugh.

I kind of agree, that is a wierd, weak model. Is it super psykic like the malanthrope and pals? Is it a melee critter with all those long lashy things?
It really strikes me as being a lot of spare parts put together with no real planning around what it is supposed to evoke in the viewer.

Why do people say the Malanthrope is a super psyker?
Zoanthropes are better in that regard, no?

Kinda/sorta according to IA4. They're not frontline combat psychic critters like Zoanthropes.
But they ARE psychic critters and come with 3 powers, act as Synapse critters, and can only move by psychically levitating themselves like the Zoanthropes.
But yeah. They mostly are clean-up crew gathering corpses and DNA.
It does make sense that we'd eventually see them adapted to combat roles, however.

Synapse is one of the powers. The others are The Horror and Warp Field.
Any Zoanthrope can do that as well, but can choose other powers as well.
This is why I wonder why people call them super psykers.

Dagnabbit, I was trying to purposely be vague!
But yeah. I think the only reason people call them "super psykers" is because they're bigger than the normal Zoanthropes and the rules aren't always readily available to correct the misconception.

The toxic miasma lashwhip combo (which appears to be the default given the smokestacks and lashwhips) would seem to imply that this is a hardcore stall troop. If it's the toxathrope mentioned it would likely also have poisonous attacks to make up for what looks to be a fairly physically frail creature. There are barbs at the end of each lashwhip, which is new. With the ravener tail it probably counts as a beast to boot, maybe with the same ability to deep strike.
Sooo.... T4, 2W, WS4-5 S4 A2-3? SV4+ (5+ clearly failed before)
Beast, Deep strike, toxic miasma, lashwhip, poisoned 3+ish?
Probably a good creature to throw at enemy monstrous creatures or assault termies to kill/stall them out. Assuming synapse works as before. Can't wait to see if my guess is at all accurate .

GW is starting to ripoff their own copycats. It has a bit of Zerg to it. The big floaty things IDK what they were.
I would love if they went back to the tyrant-harridan-termagant synonym naming they used when they started 'Nids.

GW seems to mimic DoW quite a bit. Maybe that beasty will have the ability to drag models into CC like the Lictor does in DoW2. Bloodslaughterer has a similar ability.

It's hard to tell from the small picture, but the model doesn't look like it has the fiddly detail of a metal model. My guess is that it will be a plastic kit, and that the Lictor, Ravenor and possibly Zoanthrope will be options to make from the kit.
I also agree that the older names like Tyrant and Carnifex are better.

It would be interesting if it was a multi-beasty kit that could be one of three things - Lictor and... whatever that thing is... and something else. Hopefully not a Ravener though. I've put together two units of 6 Raveners already via 1 per blister, and that was painful enough (thank God for Green Stuff), so doing it per box (which would no doubt be more expensive) would just be horrible.
