Thanks everyone, I have done some changes on the head. I am currently working on my Tyrannofex and Swarmlord, I will update in a week or two when I finished the sculpting on those.

The Swarmlod and Trygon/Mawloc is almost ready, only some minor details and adjustments to make.
Its in the middle of the night here and I only had indoor lighting, so I had to use some crazy setting on my camera for these pictures. Sorry about the poor quality. My Tyrannofex still awaits some parts from Ebay.....

The Swarmlord is just brilliant. You've got some really good conversions going on. Also, the way the Mawloc/Trygon is bursting out of the ground is excellent too. So much nicer than the static pose from the GW kit

Dude your Tervigon is truly brilliant. The birth tube is sickening as it should be and the whole pose is full of movement makes my Tervi' conversion look ametuer, keep up the good work!

Been awhiile since my last update.. Since then I finished sculpting the second Tervigon and the Tyrannofex.
Basecoted and washed them last night. Sadly I see no that I missed some spots with the wash and that I have been a bit clumsy with the red paint in some spots. I also see mold lines on the adrenal gland.
With the bases the poses looks more natural.

Note to self: stop painting after 00:00..... and dont watch the curling final at the same time... at least we won : )

Thanks all for the feedback, I fooled around last night trying to do some wet blending on the carapace. Acrylics dry too fast for me and I will now try to get hold of some slow dry medium and try again. The result was not that bad, but it can be a lot better.
I think I should add one more lighter shade, comments?

Have anyone tried to recreate the old OOP tentacle pink color from GW? I have been trying for awhile now but I am not even close.
Anyone have a mixing recipe/formula with GW colors? I wouldlike it at a final hightlight on the fleshy parts.

Even if it's very flattering, I would simply do not have any "extra time" for commissions. With 2 kids and a daytime job I almost don't find any time for my own part of the hobby. Each of the bigger conversions have taken about 20-30 hours, not including waiting time for curing of the gray stuff.

Tell me about it, I only have 1 kid, the job and the fiance and its pretty hard to claw back any time for modelling!

So, after a long break and recovery after a nasty virus I have started up the project again.
Starting with my MC´s ( I have 2 Tervigons, 1 Tyrannofex, 1 Tyrant and 1 Trygon).
First out and also test model is the Tyrannofex. I have started some basic painting on the body, but then I begun to learn the art of blending. The upper shell (apart from the end of the tail) is started. I probably need a final brighter highlight to make the red pop a little more.
Still very WIP

haha, easy for you to say... I have spent like 10 hours wet blending the upper shell. Tonight I have spent 3 hours blending the scything talons and the chimneys. I am not used to spend this amount of time on painting... : ) Maybe because I am totally new to wet blending... I hope I build up some speed and skill soon, otherwise I spend the rest of my life doing this army...

Wet blending is when you blend 2 or more colors while they are wet in order to get a very smooth transition between the colors. Watch this tutorial: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=__U0wNcEwHU

New update on the Tyrannofex, sadly i dont see much of a difference between this and the last update. But I have spent like 10 hours adding more paint : )

The red shell is more or less completed, I have started the face and working with hightlights and blending on the arms. The rest of the white is just basecoated and washed.

Well now it has its base, I thought I was finished, but as always when I bring the camera och takes a few shots and bring it up in Photoshop, I see the misstakes. Soo its almost finished now, and I would love to hear what you think about it. There are some spots and some blends that needs to be smothen, but are there anything else you in the paintjob or model ( a tad late for re-modelling but anyways....)

Looks nice, but I'm still not a fan of that tail you've got on your Tyrannofex. Do you see how in the top right picture, it almost doesn't curve at all?

Overall, a very nice sculpt, and a great paintjob to match. :3

Yea, the top could have curved a bit backwards, I see that now... Unfortuantly its made of 50% plastic Trygon tail, 45% gray stuff and 5% brass rod, soo bending it now would not be a good idea....

That first Tervigon actually made me shudder with disgust.

I love it!

Though, a critique is in hand. I think the legs should be bulked up massively on all these models. Their models really make them look too small. Especially on the Trannofex.

Heck yeah. You field that, and people will shoot at it first.

"If you really want to know what it was like, to fight in the air in the great War, then go up to someone you have never met and who has never done you the slightest harm and pour a two-gallon tin of petrol over them. Then apply a match, and when they are nicely ablaze, push them from a fifteenth-floor window after first perhaps shooting them a few times in the back with a revolver. And be aware as you are doing these things that ten seconds later someone else will quite probably do them to you. This will exactly reproduce... the substance of First World War aerial combat and will cost your country nothing. It will also avoid the necessity of ten million other people to die in order for you to enjoy it."

Thanks for the feedback.
The legs are a bit bulked on some places, but I got nervous that I would ruin the legs so I stopped. Perhaps I should have continued. I am not a master modeller, just a happy amatuer. I tend to stick to kit bashing and extending/bending/forming with modelling putty. Doing complete amatony is still unsharted territory for me.
Tonight I finished of the Tyrannofex and started with the Trygon.

It really does look like a nightmare brought to life. Has anyone seen From Beyond? It kind of reminds me of something from the movie, but all Tyranided up. Great work!

This is the final product. I am quite happy with the result. As some have stated, the leg could have been a bit thicker and the tail could have gotten some more attention. The blending will hopefully improve as I get used to the technique.
Would love some votes : )
