I use a brush with plastic bristles, coated in dried paint and glue and then drybrush calthan brown and boltgun metal on the area I want weathered. Thein add a few splotches of Badab black for scorch marks and oil stains or devlan mud to emphasise the dirt.

I like this method alot. Ive been using that on some projects and it looks really nice. I think you should wash the metal on your boyz with some black, they look to shoiney. Remember that Orks dont take the best of care with their things, as long as it works for that moment then its fine. Im digging your army so far. Looking good for a start.
As for more bikes on the cheap, buy AOBR deff koptas and convert them. Thats what I did to mine, and I can field a whole squad of bikes if I wanted, and I didnt pay nearly what those bikes cost. Heres a pic for some inspiration, now times this buy 3 and your golden

all of the metal on them is usually eiather washed with devlin mud, or brown ink, so it does have some grit on it, the pictures probably take that away....
Anywayz, sweet bikes, what did you use for the wheels?

They are both striking, but I prefer the black on red for what its worth. The easy solution is - do both! You know you want a fourth trukk right?

And thanks for the input guyz, i think i will do the black on red tiger camo, and then if (more like when) i get a fourth trukk, ill paint them the red on black
Any ideas on how i could make the paint job better?

ok guyz.galz, small update here
So, i was on vaction ( thats where i painted those two new schemes) and i thought i might as well have an KFF big mek.... so, not wanting to buy a new big mek (cuz im a cheapo like that ) i cut off the boss poll (which i am not even sure why a big mek has one...) and replaced it with a quickly made and painted KFF, so, what do you dakkaites think?
Thoughts?

It gets the point across. Next time you paint some goggles, you should paint the white dot in the upper left corners of the two lenses, and try and paint a gradient from black to bright red going to the right. It takes a little longer but it's always impressive looking.
You also should really start thinking about basing your models.

well, i base most of them, when i remember xD i do have custom color sand so i can base, it is jsut lazyness xD and to the thing about the goggels, this is like one of my first orks that i ever painted (i was 13ish) so, it was not very good, and i have not gone back to revamp him...

Arize Ye old dead thread!
Hey guyz! Thought i was gone did'nt ya?
Well if you did, then you would be absoutly correct! i stopped doing warhammer becuase of money issues... but now i am back! (sorta, trading tau for orks, not buying =p )
But anywayz, i finally got a warboss from AoBR, and here is waht i have done to him so far...
Starting with the wheel...
And to what i have now...
So what you guyz and galz think? keep in mind, this is my first time really working with green putty....
Any other things i should do before i prime?

warboss is gonna look good when you get him finished, but might i suggest you make the torso connection a bit more blocky, and mech looking rather than smoothed out like it currently is.
AND, i'd like to know what parts you used on your Big Mek's KFF, i can see a Tau drone shield but the generator bits i'm drawing a blank on.

@SebastionSynn:
I think that pylon is from the boxed board game? I've heard people mention that before...
@ OP:
Great start but I agree, make the connection blockier, or if you want you could make stitches. Nothing the orks do is smooth, though.
Great work; simple yet effective color scheme

i with you guyz had posted sooner about the connection! he is already primed!
But, the body is not painted yet, only the arm and the head... Should i just add wires and stuff anywayz? If so, how/where/whaat would you suggest for it?
And lol, the KFF is from the 4th ed days, the Battle of Marcaggie (sp?) set! those are the force feild genorators! so i figured, "Hey, why not just you a Force feild gen, and a KFF?", so ya, now you know my secrets!
And thanks for the comment on the color scheme, but which one you talking about? i got 3-4 out there!

well if the warboss is only primed on head and arm then adding to the GS shouldn't be a problem. if it was me I'd just add plasticard to it, so that it blocks in the GS, creating a more boxy look for the connecting point and hiding the GS, then add a thicker piece of plasticard to the front center so it creates a raised area, then add a couple of loops of guitar wire so that the wire is hanging down on the inside between the wheel and the body. on the outside of the wheel connections there is a blocky bit and a smaller block above that right near the top, shave that small block off and run regular coated wire into the top of the blocky bit and then run it around the front and "plug" it into the thick plasticard piece. this would make the guitar wire look like hydraulic lines, and the coated wire will look like control lines for the wheel.
however, it still looks great even if you don't add more detail to it, should look even better once he's been painted.
