Are we talking plastic snotlings (along the lines of the gnoblars box) or repackaging of the old metal snotlings?
Please, God, the former.
Also, I didn't realize that there were two types of trolls in the O&G book still.

Maybe you didn't because there are three types. Common Trolls may be field as themselves or upgraded to either River Trolls or Stone Trolls.
Snotlings are metal, mostly old models re-packaged.

Interesting. Perhaps the Nutty Boyz shall have some new smelly friends?
And on one hand, the remaining lack of plastic Savage Orcs is disappointing, as they are a mental hard unit, but on the other hand, having finished off a 2,000 point army full of the metal ones last year, I'm kind of relieved that my impatience finally paid off!

I can heartidly agree with those thinking about Warhammer Quest additions. Although I don't have the game atm due to unforseen idiocy in me selling it a few years ago.
Had full set and foolishly convinced myself that I could buy it all again when the boys where older. *slaps self*
Although I will admit for some reason I always wanted to do that Empire fight in the swamp against the River Trolls with matching terrain.
Either way looking forward to seeing what they look like.

I have heard it is a repackaging of the metal snotlings, but that is not my usual GW source so I took it with a grain of salt.
What would be super-mega awesome would be a plastic kit with the pieces for a snotling pump wagon (or 2) and 30 odd snotlings.
THAT is something I'd buy (and I already have 60 snotlings)
Hopefully the boar boyz will have the parts required to make both savage and regular boar boyz. That way GW can reduce shelf space for stores.

He seemed quite serious to me.
Death Gear wrote:Just wondering how old is the O&G army book that's out now?
It came out in October of 2006.
I'm happy to see plastic boar boyz though I already made a nine figure regiment of them to go with my mounted Warboss. If the new minis look good, I can use them to replace my second regiment of old metal boar for those really large games (3500+). If the new minis look bad, I'll just continue to gather up the rider legs from the Orc Boyz regiment boxes.
Swamp Trolls are not something I've ever wanted to use. I have stone trolls just because I like the minis. I haven't found trolls to be much use in battle. I do enjoy using them in skirmish/Mordheim games, and I'll probably grab the plastic Swamp Trolls for just that purpose.

The models are very similar to that scene.
Snotlings are, alas, metal.
NO new book.. this year anyway. I'm not expecting a new O & G one until, at earliest, early next year... Q1 ? Q2 maybe ?
I think there will be one other WFB prior to O & G at least.
..and.. well.... there was all that FW talk as well too don't forget.

No, we are most definitely not. I have a feeling Empire players will have enough models to keep them going for a while.

FW are going to move into the fantasy side of things, they will be releasing models, books etc etc, the whole shebang.
Exactly how I'm not sure, but it would be logical to assume they will roll out stuff similar to the Imperial Armour books.
We might see some stuff for this at the FW openday, or they might choose to push the next IA book, but I would say it would be unlikely, and stupid, for them to start producing stuff prior to the launch of a new edition. Once that's rolled out I think we'll start to see some FW fantasy goodness.

I was quite excited when i saw the title of this thread but my hopes shrunk as i read through it....
First there's no new army book, which is a bit of a disapointment, but it's ok.
Second, the fact that new trolls were coming out excited me until i heard they were going to be river trolls, and only river trolls. I ask you: what is the point of releasing a plastic boxed set of only one type of the troll? Also, why river? They're the worst of all the trolls
Third, there's nothing much else, except boar boyz, which im glad are being released (and i may buy a kit dependant on price) but i can convert them quite easily from the boars bitz pack and some regular orc boyz and they look good. There's some other stuff i'd prefer to see released in plastic (e.g. savage orcs)
However, complaining aside, it's better than nothing.

I'm so excited, new boar boys!! There are only so many poses one can make with the same two sides... :~\ I hope they come with legs that will work for Fantasy (savage or not) and 40K... I like the metal river trolls, but as long as they aren't as bad as the minotaurs I'll probably be very happy. New snotlings should be interesting, even if they are just plastic casts of the old models. I love the old models... essentially the snotlings. OOO! so giddy!
