I dunno...

Fair cop, old sport.

and I think the current grip on the AC is a bit odd, that's far too big a gun to hold in a pistol-grip.

I am definatly intrigued to see where this will be going, but i have one thing that is nagging me to sugest, that one chaos marauder should be holding the autocannonwith both hands, otherwise he looks like he is trying to "Arnauld" it WAYYYYYY to much.

WAAAHG!!! until further notice

Sorry for the hiatus, but friends of the family were staying and my hobby time quickly evaporated.

@Tazz Azrael, yeah agreed, definitely looks odd, however I'm going to try a bulky gun stock first, rather than going in and hacking att the model.
@SpaceDuck Nice to see you up again, its been a while.

This may be an old pic, but I'm working on this model to interact with cultist 1.

Besides the mould lines, the use of LS Storm scouts out of their "natural environment" always appealed to me, so that's a win for me!

Right its been a while, I've been getting ready for an overdue holiday, however I can show I've at least been aquiring the parts for this project. (I've added all the pics as attachments as no one wants to vote on them!)

Below you'll see I've bought some COD sprues, more hinges and have started to design the front cover as the board will resemble a book when closed.

For those who can't read it the cover reads
'The book of War, Chapter 17B, Section 69, Clause 22, Skirmish at Thermoplae, 'Trust in your Brothers'

I'm back! Overdue I know, but progress is happening, after delays caused by holidays, family and the good weather, I'm back on track. For tonight is the night. The board components which have gathered dust are being cut into shape and assembled, depending on timescale, there will be pics today (hopefully) or tomorrow. Thanks for lookin,

M.C.

So is that case going to by modeled as a book? Looks like it could be. That'd be pretty sweet to see a book of a battle, open her up and have a diorama of said battle. The ultimate pop-up book!

I like your models so far as well. Hopefully the whole diorama will be as dynamic as they are.

@Fiend, Thanks for the kind words, helps me to carry on with this daunting project.
Yes it will be a book, I'm contemplating whether to engrave the letters into the wood or have a brass plaque style piece made to sit on the front, also the gap between the inner boxes and the 'cover' will be paper filled! By this i mean it will resemble a book shut, the pages will even be weatherd, (with cofee), but you get my drift.

Cheers

M.C

Looking good... can't wait to see the finished piece!

A little part of me dies when it thinks of a puritan Inquisitor reading the Rites of Damnation to a heretic then throwing him off a ladder through a table.

very nice so far! can't wait to see it finished! By the way what will the book title be and will there be a blurb and decorated covers on both sides?

I apologise to anyone who interacted with me around 2009-2012.

Errmmm, I'm not too sure, pretty sure I'm going for a front cover, might try carving, if not I'll use a stencil. I may do something on the spine and maybe credits on the back to people who have contributed significantly. The title I mentioned earlier in the thread but its open to change.

Oh and no pics yet but the autocannon dude has been reposed successfully, that was a bugger! And everything is getting painted Adeptus Battlegrey, for colour conscistency.

And I may have a deadline for a 'mini' Golden Demon at my local GW, I'm just hoping It'll be up for it!

Well luckily I have proof!

First up is the view the cultists will recieve of this scout,

It is actually a dark grey.

Next his him from the front, few slip-ups, going to have to do something to the face.

Next is him from behind, hopefully you can see the multitude of greys in this one.

And last is him from a distance.

Also have a few shots from a week or so ago showing the rough layout of the board, when opened.

Hope you like,

M.C.

It closes on the hinges, which are covered with specially made terrain when the book is open, might show how the book is opened in pics, good idea?

Cool to see there is progress. The building looks kind of tall for the book to close though...

I'm looking forward to seeing more.

Thanks, quite alot of my greenstuffing isn't perfect but isn't noticeably so, play around with it don't start with something in mind to sculpt, have fun and practise. Oh and combine the Landspeeder Storm Scouts with another variant as it means you have to sculpt a combination of thighs and upper arms and other joins. Easier to work with as proportion is easier with one full plastic arm or leg on the other side.
Post some pics too!

Right back on track, did some painting tonight, crouching regenade approaching 50%, its been a struggle to pick up a a paintbrush for the last couple of weeks, so bare with me as I continue to crawl along at a pitifully slow rate.

I promise pics soon.
