I actually keep him in the squad. The only thing worse than summarily executing a 40 point model is for 250 points of models to run off the table because they don't get a reroll to their morale check.
Plus, the LC is WS5, has W3, a refractor field and carapace, he's pretty darn tough himself. The only time when I think I'd split the LC off and have him just chill out nearby are in a situation where the LC is in danger of getting seriously instaglibbed.

Hey Ailaros,
Nice report as always. See you at the tournament Saturday.
For the posters below, this was actually only my sons second game ever playing a Lash list. He is a relatively new CSM player(since X-mas), so he is in the experimentation stage with different lists almost every game and still learning what/how certain things work together.
sexiest_hero wrote:Grats on the win. I love seeing Double lash go down! That being said, The chaos player played a horrible terribad game. It's one of the few battle reports where you see a army you know is net decked, and the player just craps it all up. Nothing against him. But while he may beat scrubs with double lash, a player with skill will make the game painful to watch. It was filled with me saying "what?" "why?" "NOOOO"
BladeWalker wrote:As a long time Black Legion player (and occasional Lash abuser) I can't figure out why he was keeping his Rhinos back... he should have wanted to get in CC as soon as possible, being able to dictate his charge with vehicles/lash use. You said he's the youngest player in the group, hopefully he learns from this one. His list is almost pure offense and he was hanging back...

I think this also hides something else - he's WAY better with chaos than with other armies he's tried. If this is what a 12-year-old with an army he's been playing for less than 2 months can do, well, then it looks like I haven't even begun to hold onto my hat.
I anticipate much success for him with CSM in the future. Perhaps he could teach Joe a thing or two

Nice batrep, as always. I never skip a Blood Conquerers edition. Damn, I was over guard for about two months now, but now I have the urge to make up a new list and go to GW tomorrow.

Good report as always Ail, GJ.
Although Im skeptical in terms of the Chaos list and definitevly his deployment. Obs x2 down your right flank unsupported into a 3 story PCS/CCs occupied squad?
Just YMMV, a lack of central terrain is never good. Bar the centre line it was quite..... the killing field?
He had nothing to outflank your HWS/blobs on the left flank? Open points imo.
Constructive critism only intended, I enjoy your reps.

Actually, this really showcases that going first is not only good. He deployed not knowing in which corner I was going to castle, where I could choose which corner to castle in based on his deployment.
Being able to concentrate your forces against an unconcentrated opponent is the consolation prize for going second. This game it seemed to matter more than some others I've played.

I can't imagine how my opponent could have afforded chosen, or something.

My apologies Ailaros, I did not read the BR indepth - my bad. The missions are different to what I play.
Having said that on re-reading he still should not have gone near your right flank with the 2x Obis - the point was?
Your left flank - in terms of TQs was relatively vulnerable - 1 HWS and 1 blob?
- Much easier then an attack down your right: which contained PCSx2 and a CBS and a blob?
Tactical analysis, no critism meant.

Excellent report, as always. I send readers to your blog on a regluar basis.
I have a hard time mastering the blob strategy; im an advocate of buffet-style guard.
I look forward to reading more of your reports and hope to post my own from this weekends event!

Yes, but my point is that my opponent DIDN'T KNOW where my forces were when he deployed. Because I deployed after he did, he did not know in advance that the right side was going to be rough for his obliterators. The only reason the right was strong was precisely because I already knew where my opponent had deployed.
