Painted is preferred, and a lot of people do enjoy seeing and playing against fully done forces. That said, I do recognise that that might not always be strictly practical or feasible, so in keeping with the casual nature of the event, there's no compulsion to do so.

Ok thanks, i would rather play with pained stuff as well. But not too sure about using Necrons, as i haven't worked out how to win with them yet
I could probably get my Marines finished, all be it, not wonderfully done. Orks i would probably have no chance. (well i would if i had brought them back to Norwich with me for Easter Holidays...). Looking forward to it anyway

Probably won't be able to make it, cash is tight at the minute so coughing up the dosh for train tickets, a hotel food and 750 points of the most expensive models needed to complete my list is a tad more than I can afford without winning a couple of hundred

On the subject of hotels I would avoid the Victoria as the service sucked.

I am not a huge fan of the escalation either, as I'll only be there on the Saturday, so I'll be playing lots of very very small games, but I'll still come if we are using that option. I'd prefer AT LEAST 750 points to begin with in the first two games though.

Hmmm...If there's time, I may knock it up to a 1000 points then.

I have a maximum of 500 points assembled in any given army, all of which are troops.

Sorry to push for a decision Ketara, but with the the increase to 1000pts would prehaps indicate an increase in the higher points games (2000pts?).

I'm not that bothered what we play or how big, if it means that more Dakkanauts want to attend, but if any of us (me!) need to get bigger forces then I wouldn't mind knowing ASAP. (sorry to pile on the pressure mate )

Nah, the highest points cost won't go above 1500 points, don't worry about it.

On escalation, I think 750 is a better starting point than 500 also. Though since I'm taking horde orks, each step is just "moar boyz!".
I'm not a fan of apocolypse games but I'm easygoing about what we do over the weekend. It's my first tournament in over a year so I'm just excited to be attending!

On the debates with game size, 500 does give some books an advantage and there are some really beardy things which can be done at that size, but given that it's only 1 game out of 7 i'm sure we can suck it up!

Aww... now you won't be able to see the awesome triple cheese valkyrie list I had for 500 :(

I'm sure you'll have the chance to spam your cheesy Valk lists at highe rpoints costs.

Just to check, we have games at 1,000, 1,250 and 1,500 points, so we need an army which starts at 1,000 and adds 250 points twice.

Nope. Escalation was removed, so its possible to have three completely separate army lists for each points value. (All lists from the same army though of course)
