Great looking army, mate. Love the gritty colour scheme. Care to describe your technique? Thumbs up for the melta bomb on the backpack. Is it supposed to be a bomb of a new backpack pattern?

Thanks, yeah its supposed to be a bomb i figured that flat spot might as well be used to maglok something to like in the fluff. im not really sure how to describe the technique i use so i will post a couple links to the you tube videos Ive been learning from.

Hope this helps, I learned a lot from this guys channel.

got the tac squad washed and started on the water transfers and some dry brush weathering. not much going on. Thinking of picking up some terminators soon also thinking about getting some tower shields from paulson games to use as siege mantlets. Not sure how far i want to go into the IA stuff yet as i would like to actually be able to play my first army a bit and i dont know if anyone would be will to play against an IA rule army who knows. I would like to know your thoughts though.
Currently my army is thus:
Siege Master, or captain depending on who is willing to play me
aux grenade launcher
powerfist
combi melta
artificer armour
185

Tac squad 1
Powerfist
combi melta
melta
heavy bolter
210

Tac squad2
Power sword
melta bombs
stormbolter
flamer
heavy bolter
200

Dev squad 1
2x missile launchers
2x lascannon
powerfist
295

Assault squad
Lightning claw
Melta Bombs
flamer
130

Rhino
extra armor
dozer blade
55

total 1075 so far
looking to add 5 terminators with heavy flamer
and a counts as vulcan

really want this army to be as mobile in a city as possible with the exception of the dev squad which will have to just provide cover support for the combat squads.
heavy bolters will sit on objectives or clear paths for the flamer and melta teams siege master will ride in rhino with flamer team and assault squad will run interference where necessary.
now that i have it written out and am looking at it I don't know how well this army will do but oh well should be fun i have one of almost every weapon available to my tac squads to try out, except plasma because i will probably die enough without blowing myself up.

I got side tracked and instead of working on the squad i was painting i started building stuff. First i tried my hand at a siege mantlet which i am pretty proud of and it only took me like 5 minutes. Thats going to save me a lot of money when i really start with the siege list. I also build a pile of junk for terrain. should look pretty cool once painted I love expanding insulation foam.

Wow over 1,000 views! that's crazy. I wish i had more to post today but i have been really busy with dumb old real life stuff lol. Through some careful strategery and tactful deal making with the boss lady aka the wife, i have managed to secure a few uninterrupted hours of painting tomorrow but it requires me to be staining our deck today which ishould be doing right now but I am a one man union so im on a break lol. I got a PM from a dude last night who has also chosen the warbringers as his chapter, that was pretty cool. this is the link to his blog: http://www.bolterandchainsword.com/index.php?showtopic=163537&hl=warbringers
I also had a semi mirror wip blog going on on ordofanaticus which is the local wargaming forum but theres not a whole lot of people on there that arent.... well you know the kind of people. anyway hope to have more soon. Thanks for listening children! this is three dog signing out! lol jk.

I was able to get quite a bit done today. worked on tac squad 2 and got them pretty far along. Got all the water transfers and freehand marking done (finally), matte sealed them, dry-brush weathered them, and got started on the black base coating as well as black-grey metal parts. also found something that made me really want to make a chaos army with an apothecary lookin deamon prince.

Hey everyone! I haven't had a whole lot of time to paint recently with classes starting again but I did manage to get a little bit done the other day. Got the eyes done and purity seals ready for their sepia wash just about to start doing the metallic details too. unfortunately my camera isn't very good so it's hard to see much detail. One of the marines eyes turned into a happy accident, I totally messed up on it and decided that maybe he took same damage to his helmet and no longer had a functioning eye lens, It turned out pretty cool. hope to get more done soon. and cc is appreciated, thanks for reading.

This log deserves more comments!

1) I love that you went for a more obscure Chapter - your colour scheme and weathering looks really cool too. So you drybrush your troops after a matt undercoat? What effect does that achieve?

2) That captain is all sorts of 'Hurrr, me smash!' Personally, I like his wargear loadout just fine.

3) The lens effect is great, they really look like they're glowing! How did you do it?

I'm working on Brazen Minotaurs myself... They USED to be obscure until those stupid ****s at IA redid 'em

@Jihad_Ragsta:
1) the first matte undercoat seals in the first wash and water transfers which are done on top of a coat of future. The dry brushing is what i use as the first step of wear and tear on the armor, i use an old matted brush and drybrush sporadically around the model in places that would be getting the most abuse, this will also be the highlight for the chipped areas with metal showing from under the paint later. It also kind of looks like scratches and i like that.
2. thanks I really like the captain, can't wait to try out the auxiliary grenade launcher, which you can't really see in any of the pictures but is my favorite piece of gear on the guy.
3. For the lenses I started with a base coat of VGC heavy blue grey which is just one shade darker than white to make them pop more, then VAC fire red, VAC scarlet red near the light source and a 50/50 mix of VAC scarlet red and skull white for the retina then fire red around the outside for the glowy.
The Minotaurs are pretty awesome I was thinking of using the rules for their chapter master for my army because he gives everyone preferred enemy:space marines. which is pretty cool.... if your fighting space marines. lol. Thanks for the comment

It's been quite a while since I updated. Been real busy the past few months. So all of those who are quivering in antici..............pation, you can cease the quivering now.
I've done a lot of toying around with lists that I'd like to make and have finally come to one that can be easily broken or built up and keep the theme of my army going.
More on all that later. Here are some pics of what I am currently working on.

This guy is going to be my Vulkan counts as.
I think I might go with the shoulders the Hi Tech guy cam with instead though.

Also got some Terminators going. I want them to look really heavily armored even for terminators because I think it'll look cool.
Here's a sgt prototype.

and here is an update on the painting from way back. This guy is still WIP.

Any feedback is welcome and appreciated

After a long stint of inactivity I finally managed to get some hobbying done. AND I just received the rest of my 1500 point list.more on that later.
Here are some pictures of my Terminator paint scheme prototypes.

so far so good. I did a lot more knife work than usual on these guys a lot lot more on the helmeted dude. I hope it looks as cool when its done as i thought it would when i was doing it.
Luckily I got them washed before I had run out of time so they will be nice and dry next chance i get to work with them.

Thanks man! I'm hoping to be able to update a little more often now. Just got a new camera too, so pics will be higher quality. I also consulted with the owner of the FLGS about what to do about the barber pole leg armor on my vulkan. I think I will be doing some work with plasticard in the near future on him while simultaneously constructing 8 more termies, 2 Ironclads, 2 Whirlwinds and a Vindicator. So lots more in store. Thanks for following

Popped in after Hazzer referred you in his Blog. Great work, I love the weathered look of these guys! The tactical markings on the shoulder pads are well done, are they free hand or transfers? The Techmarine guy is very cool reminiscent of Scribor's work. Keep up the good work I'm subbed!

Stayed up until 4 am working on this ironclad. Got it all assembled and then couldn't fight the urge to start converting it up. Still needs a lot of greenstuff but I've gotten most of the plasticard work out of the way. I also plan on sticking a couple more searchlights on this guy before hes done.

Looks kind of gross right now and I managed to get a lot of super glue every were as well but its coming along.
What do ya think?

Wow, this is some excellent stuff! I'm usually not much a fan of Astartes but these guys look hard-bitten and battle worn. They look like they haven't been home for a long, long time. The non-Codex conversions of the Rhino to meet the needs and requirements of their theater of operation are very well done and completely convincing.

Plus I have to say I enjoy that they look like it would take only the slightest little push to send them over to the Renegade side.

The side projects are interesting as well. Subbed and will be back from more!

HOLY CRAP AN UPDATE!!
Hey there Dakkites and Dakkettes. Sorry for the long long long wait I have been pretty busy lately but fear not good things are coming. I have established a satellite work station to get some modeling done at in the living room which has allowed me to really get at a large chunk of models lately. There is still some work to do on some of these mostly just posing and basing and maybe some plasticard customization but that will come in time. I don't want to be dragging all of my stuff from my basement lair up to stairways because my wife would probably murder me with an Xacto knife.

Down in the painting department I have made some good progress on my first terminator and I am pretty pleased with the scheme so far. this guy is still in progress I have a lot of paint chipping and weathering left to do. Let me know what you think so far.
