Furthermore i have read fluff that states that the Adeptus mechanicus have stated that after 10000 years the golden throne is starting to "fail" furthermore the hive fleets are following the astromech then they will head straight for terra from their their is a slim chance that it might even move on to the next universe err galaxy, yes the imperium shall shatter and the independent sm worlds theory makes sense also the tau have control of at least a 100 worlds, read imperial armor
Don't you see? My Master Tzeentch cares not which of the Great Powers of Chaos you serve. In the end, aren't the followers of the Blood God changing valiant warriors into headless corpses? Aren't the worshippers of the Lord of Flies changing strong, healthy bodies into rotting, diseased carcasses? Aren't the disciples of the Dark Prince changing stern, steadfast heroes into slaves to their own senses? Accept that Tzeentch has a place for all of us in his grand scheme, and be happy in the part you have to play. Deathskulls the inventors of the original 5 finger discount

If the Emperor dies the Tyranids leave. The survival of humanity then depends on the power of the next Black Crusade and the how many Necrons are waking up.
Imperium would go down very hard when he had Space Marines to defend it.

You sure? I thought they where the same thing.
sure.
The astronomican exists as a naval guiding beacon.
The golden throne was/is the control device of the gate to the webway.
would you need both? Or was HIS plan to access the webway to reduce the warptravel and thus decrease the importance of the astronomican.
hellspawn22 wrote:The Astronomicon isn't a machine, is it? I thought it was just a manifestation of big E's psychic will.
Its a psychic tool to focus a choir of psykers to create a beacon. There may be machinery involved...
The Emperor built the throne as a means of entering the Webway. Having this fixed point of entry was meant to free humanity from its reliance on Warp-ships and astrotelepathy, since humans could simply enter the Webway and emerge wherever they chose in the galaxy. He sent armies of workers through the portal and had them construct a new short section of Webway linking to the rest of the abandoned Eldar network. Since the original Webway was built of a psychically resistant material which the humans could not replicate, the Emperor used his powers, via the Golden Throne, to protect the human-built section from the Warp. (Horus Heresy)
The Golden Throne is connected to a massive Warp beacon known as the Astronomican which generates a system of signals making faster-than-light travel in the Imperium possible (Rouge Trader)

I'm under the impression that Humanity will continue on but the IoM itself at some point will collapse, it might take another 1000 years but as soon as the Throne is non-functioning and the Big E finally succumbs to death, well then the IoM fractures and splinters, parts of it will survive for longer than others but without warp travel they will be scattered to the four corners like the Eldar just waiting for the final days of their empire. But like the Eldar they have enough scattered populated worlds that many will survive for centuries if not millenniums developing their own empires and technologies, after all many human worlds are primitive and pre-industrial they will survive as they do not rely on the Imperium nor do they attract attention from elsewhere.
If not for the mediocre who would be great, and thank goodness for those who are just terrible they make even those who are mediocre look great

The Emperor protects. 47th Drasian Shock, the Eagle's Talons
No doubt on that one. It would be a hell of a battle

I honestly think any attempt to portray it would just fall short of expectations though. I mean, this is a universe with the most epic of epic battles, and to see the biggest of those would probably make someone's head explode.
