And speaking to someone who was apparently a bully, I hope you one day run into the guys you used to pick on, and realize how much your life sucks in comparison to theirs. Forgive me if I don't take pity on a girl who only has to deal with people singing her song in a funny voice or being asked what day of the week it is, I would have been ecstatic if thats all I had to deal with on a given day. Try having vicious rumors spread about you through the school that you shagged your dog (I didn't even have a dog...) and your (male) cousin. Try being choked out by the kid who sits behind you in class (in the middle of class no less). Try being the kid picked last in gym class, and then being targeted by the other kids on your team for physical abuse (being tackled by your teammates when you're not carrying a ball, having dodgeballs thrown at you by your team mates, having soccer balls and basketballs kicked/thrown at your face, etc.). Try sitting a table filled with other kids, and all of them start playing card games, etc. or decide to have a party/hang out after classes or go to a concert and be the only one sitting there at the table not invited. Worse, have them invite people sitting at the other tables around you and still not be invited. Worse still have them finally invite you to do something, and then when you show up at the movie theater to meet them, nobody shows up at all. Yeah, get bent.

Sounds rather typical, to tell the truth. I myself had to put up with that sort of gak, not only in High school, but all the way through Elementary school, too. Parents were no help; mom was the secretary, and not the "Lets let my kid get away with everything" sort of parent, either. Dad was a cop. So I was basically getting "Kick Me" signs stuck on my back in second grade, and by third grade I was gay because one of the other (typical bully) kids was peeping through the doors of the bathroom stalls. Add to this the fact that I made it no secret that I played Warhammer, and you can imagine why I'm now playing you the worlds smallest violen.....

Sorry, but after reading this thread I can't help but laugh.

If that 14 year old brat can't take someone asking her "'Oh hey, Rebecca, guess what day it is?" (Oh the horrors) then she deserves everything she gets as she is going to have a very rude wake up call when she leaves her ultra sheltered home school life and hits mainstream at 18.

Here "gay" no longer seems to mean homosexual. Unless of course you make appropriate hand gestures to indicate otherwise. That and kids are evil creatures of unpleasantness.

Hey, homeschool is not as sheltered as you think. I know more about the world (and the abominations that can reside in it) than a lot of kids my age, I am homeschooled.

But she does need to be able to take more than just some verbal abuse. it took some kid trying to throttle the life out of me to get me to Homeschool.

Ahhh psychological abuse at the hands of your peers... brings back memories. Second I was home schooled most of my life and I do just fine, it really depends on the parents whether or not she gets the sheltered life or not.

See I was the lowest on the totem because I was the new guy. I spent one year in middle school but got expelled because some of the preppy kids were spreading malicious rumors that I was threatening the school. God there is absolutely nothing worse than preppy rednecks.

And you're not getting that it's not about what's being said, it's about the fact that the ENTIRE SCHOOL, not just her class or grade, is doing it in an organized fashion.

This isn't bullying, it's psychological warfare to wear her down.

Let's face it, most people get picked on in school. And everyone knows of those few special kids that attract the harassment like a gak magnet on crack and get the treatment almost every day for the entire length of their schooling.

So seriously, why is she special again? Because she made a horrible song/video and made the mistake of releasing it on the internet? Welcome to real life, where your every action has the possibility to come back and bite you in the rear.

She's being home schooled because there's no indication it would be different at any other school and her mother is a teacher.

I have a story too: A kid at my high school got mad because my high school GF picked me to sleep with over him. So, he threatened my life to his friends. She beat the tar out of him in public over that(I didn't find out about any of this until it had all gone down). He never heard the end of it, so he changed schools. He still heard stuff about it at other schools. He decided to move out of the city and legally change his name to attempt to erase his past.

To this day, people STILL talk about her Epic Beatdown of him in the ROTC office.

We ALL have anecdotes that can support our story, doesn't change the fact.

So... you are actually claiming that a dude not only changed schools, but he physically moved out of the city/state and had his name legally changed?

Sorry, still not going to buy this story.

I won't sit here and believe that someones parents would go so far as to physically pack up and move out of the city.. change their lifestyles and jobs, and let him change his name legally over this.

Cool story though.

Again, I had no knowledge of any of this until after the fact(I didn't even know about his moving or changing his name until earlier this year when several people mentioned it).

She's going to an online homeschooling program, which one of my friends is also in. I told my friend to get my an autograph for me hahaha

Also my same friend's mom works for the online homeschool, so they have her address and everything. Guess where IIIIIIIII am going.

By the way, as much of an donkey-cave as I am, I probably wouldn't have bullied Rebecca Black, I would've tried to make as good friends with her as I possibly could.

Back when I was the Army, I met two people who were home schooled. They are the most socially inept people I have ever met in my entire life.

Now, I'm not saying that happens to everyone that is home schooled, as that's clearly not the case, but I would never homeschool my children after meeting those two.

More to the point of this topic, I think people really need to toughen up. I think it's a sadder state of affairs that Parents are pulling their kids out of school in an attempt to fix issues like this. I think that only makes the situation worse.

I mean honestly, you have kids all over the world that can barely eat, or afford to go to school, and here they are getting pulled out because they can't handle having some mean things said about them.

You hear about the "socially inept" stuff, but I'm sure that's more of a passed-down trait from the parents than it is simply due to homeschooling. I knew a few kids in high school and college who were homeschooled and they weren't any more 'socially inept' than I was. But they did tend to be smarter than the average kid.

The more I think about sending my kid to a government school the more I about the benefits of home- or private schooling.

Yeah, that's pretty much the way I see it.

We'll see how the tables have turned by the time their 10 year high school reunion rolls around; I'm betting not many of them will be doing as well as she is.
