(no don't judge homeschoolers, and for the kid argument, nobody leaving school has any bearing on kids in the 3rd world, one of the reasons I pulld out of shcool also, was because I have ADHD, OCDs, Dysgraphia, on/off dyslexia and a hell of a lot of other stuff that I am busy crushing Right now)

I know some people that were home schooled, and the only difference I can tell between them and the people that went to public school is that they are smarter by about an order of magnitude.

Don't get me wrong, it's completely anecdotal on my part. I think part of the issue came from that they were home schooled nearly their entire K-12 lives, and had little, to no social life. Needless to say, the Army was quite a shocker for them.

I don't think I've come across any Home schooled people that were smarter than their public school counterparts. It could just be the social group I've had experience with though.

All I have to say is, good luck getting admitted to a CSU or UC system once she is 'done' with homeschool. From personal experience (and my father being the former Senior Admissions Counselor for the entire UC system (now retired, 2008)), applicants who are homeschooled cannot be admitted to either university system, as homeschooling cannot be sufficiently accredited by the 5 or so boards required for this.

She WILL have to do her transfer courses at a CC, if she wants to attend a public university in the future. I'm unsure of other states in the Union, but I'd bet their public institutions have a similar requirement. Or she could go to a private university.

Actually, the LLC is a homeschool program that has you submit your work and do interviews with a official every month. it counts as full credits.

Why can't they suck it up?
I mean seriously once she is out of the spot light its regular life again. sigh people never listen...

I have a story too: A kid at my high school got mad because my high school GF picked me to sleep with over him. So, he threatened my life to his friends. She beat the tar out of him in public over that(I didn't find out about any of this until it had all gone down). He never heard the end of it, so he changed schools. He still heard stuff about it at other schools. He decided to move out of the city and legally change his name to attempt to erase his past.

To this day, people STILL talk about her Epic Beatdown of him in the ROTC office.

We ALL have anecdotes that can support our story, doesn't change the fact.

Then maybe the idiot should have known better not to run his mouth and threaten to kill someone's boyfriend/girlfriend?

He thought he was a bad ass, and got his "bad ass" handed to him. It's his own fault he "never heard the end of it", and I shed no tears for him.

No, it's an example of how if someone can't psychologically handle the situation, they remove themselves from it.

Try being the kid picked last in gym class, and then being targeted by the other kids on your team for physical abuse (being tackled by your teammates when you're not carrying a ball, having dodgeballs thrown at you by your team mates, having soccer balls and basketballs kicked/thrown at your face, etc.). Try sitting a table filled with other kids, and all of them start playing card games, etc. or decide to have a party/hang out after classes or go to a concert and be the only one sitting there at the table not invited. Worse, have them invite people sitting at the other tables around you and still not be invited. Worse still have them finally invite you to do something, and then when you show up at the movie theater to meet them, nobody shows up at all. Yeah, get bent.

You miss the part where I had my nose broken? Maybe I should throw in that I was wearing my glasses at the time as well, yeah those were shattered and scratched up my face underneath my eyes and along my eyebrow ridge. How about the fact that the bottom halves of my two front teeth are artificially filled in, because some dick decided to push me down a full flight of stairs. Yeah, social pressure my ass, getting beat up isn't social pressure.

Totally 100% agreed. I live in farmville northwest NJ pretty much, but the vast majority of my town has money (and a lot of it). Everyone is more or less a stuck up rich kid that thinks their all classy and sophisticated and gak like that, but we're out in the boonies.

bs. Having been teased and made fun of by the vast majority of my school (pretty small one, ~600 students total) I can tell you that its NOT the entire school. Everyone has a handful of friends, everyone. Even the kid at the bottom of the totem pole. Besides, she had a handful of her friends APPEAR in the video with her. The part with her riding in the car? In an interview she stated that the 2 girls and the 2 boys with her in the car were her closest friends.

I earned that title and the 'most likely to: conquer the world' title as well... its funny to, cuz I'm the one that reported the kid that brought a handgun to school, go figure Hell, while I had it pretty bad, I can think of a couple kids who had it even worse than me, we all toughed it out, and for the most part got our apologies our fourth year of high school, were invited to parties, etc. achieved acceptance, etc. once people realized how stupid they were being. The only ones that really didn't fit in at this point were the ones that really were psychologically scarred (although to be fair, the psychological scarring was the result of outside events, nobody at the school had anything to do with it, and nobody ever made fun of those kids, theres no fun in kicking a dog when its down, etc.).



As for the homeschooling bit, I know a couple kids that have been homeschooled, and they're some of the coolest kids I know. They certainly get more action with the girls than I do.

The way I see it, it helped me grow as a person, and I'm stronger because of it. I hate it when I see kids being bullied, but from the description of what Rebecca Black is dealing with, its just teasing, she isn't being threatened or beat up over it. Besides that, she made money off of it and has achieved worldwide notoriety/fame as a result. If I were her I'd be laughing along w/ everyone making fun of me all the way to the bank.
