A crashed spaceship?
If you can provide me pics, scans or any material I can work from, then I'd like to build it!
I have a general interest in every GorkaMorka, Necromunda and 40K cardboard buildings. Actually, the 40k buildings (imperial bastion and firebase, even the powerplant from the Storm of Vengeance campaign...) would be really interesting to work on. So if anyone can provide me visual material from which I can work, please tell me!

Thanks for the link Fox Box! the crashed spaceship should be easy to build, I'll save these pics for later
BTW if there's any other gorkamorka building that I don't know (I confess I know far less about GorkaMorka than Necromunda) please, let me know!
I've managed to grab some gorkamorka original building but I'm not sure of what it is. I think it's the watchtower from a WD but I can't google a proper pic to be sure.
I'm affraid I won't get enough time to go buying drywall tape until next week
A good point however: I've received some more plasticard sheets and got a free stock of solid cardboard.
Cheers!

I have just bought both the imperial bastion and firebase from ebay, will try to get some pics of them for you.
I'm planning on scanning the parts too.
I think that I'm missing about 2 bits on each one, but I did get the booklets on how to construct them too, so those will be scanned as well.
I just need time :(

There's a scan of the watch tower that came with WD kicking around in a torrent somewhere I think, should you want to build it in plasticard I mean.
In terms of card terrain for GoMo there was the fort, the crashed ship, the Mutie tents, and the watch tower. As far as I know there's nothing else (and I can say that relatively definitively, that's how big a geek I am!).

I only still have a few of the Gorka Fort's cover bitz. But if they help you for measurements I'd be more than glad to share.
My cutting mat is marked out in Inches though, sorry I don't use metric unless i absolutely have to.

Here you go...
Warning!
Bastion PDF is 15.6mb!
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/30417086/Bastion/Bastion%20Instructions.pdf
Firebase PDF is 17mb!
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/30417086/Firebase/Firebase%20Instructions.pdf
Be warned, these two take something like 28 bulkheads between them!
Sadly lots of the card is already glued, so will have to be carefully cut apart. I will start on this sooner than I might have done, so that I can get you some scans of the card pieces so that you can start cutting it. It'll also allow me to store it flat, which would help...
I'm going to try and work out a way to change it to being a flat pack kit for both when done in Plasticard, not sure how that'll work, but better to try than not to.

Yeah, more plasticard rebuilding thread!
Thanks for the link man I highly appreciate your help!
I'm not able to open the link for now, but it'll be done soon!
Now let's talk about orkifying the building. I already have a set of glyphs, at least 2 truks rear platforms, some barrels, ammo crates, wheels... What about an iconic Ork skull above the fort? And if yes, should I stick it just above the door or built a scaffolding to hold it somewhere?
Another question, I really want to build a small squig doghouse, but where to put it? Inside or outside?

Odd, they both work fine from here, although being quite large, they can take some time to load. Has anyone else had problems getting them?
The Firebase and Bastion are both now up, see my thread for details. The original locations for the instructions still work for the moment, but I have also moved them in with the other bits. I've updated the links higher up in this thread, but they may now work for you. Certainly worth a try!

MrDrem, it's more than worth a try, It's a duty to build these
Now I'm starting to think of making and casting my own bulkheads. If anyone has already tried something similar and wish to share his/her experience then please do so!
The fort, in its actual state will be tested in game next week, so I'll see where to add weapon platforms, shooting position, cover etc...
Cheers!

Doing an exact cast (meaning slots, etc) I think would be doomed to fail until you are using a more advance casting technique (meaning expensive) but to cast a facade (the front or back side of a bulkhead to use as decoration) is something that would be really easy and I have been thinking about a lot lately. It could be as "advanced" as a modge-podge latex mold, or as simple a a impression pour. Either way, bulkhead facades would be extremely awesome.

Meh I don't use the slots, could fill them in with plasticard before casting as far as I care.

As soon as I'll get enough casting material, I'll try to build my own plasticard bulkheads and to cast them.
Now, back to the fort, here are the latest progress:
And the weirdboy (with his full uniform)
Skalk, I really like the small rivets method you've posted in your thread, I'll have to use it on the walls.
Dsteingass, I've tried to build rivets like you've done with RSJake method here
But I've failed to produce more than two correct ones , so I'll try to make a GS mold to produce them in quantity.
Cheers!

Well, I used three different slices of rod rather than punching them. Your punched rivets on the walkway look a lot better than my uneven ones though! That drywall tape is worth every penny isnt it? Looking awesome!

Thanks!
To be honnest I didn't use Drywall tape since I couldn't find the right stuff at my local hardware shop. Instead, I've used tulles ribbon (I don't know the english name of tulles). Basically it's this:
I'ts mainly used for wedding decoration and I found a small piece of it at the bottom of a drawer.
It's really cheap, and, while it's not self adhesive like drywall tape, it's rigid enough to be easily glued with half dried PVA (plus if you're not married yet, your fiance would be glad to make some hobby purchases with you for once )
I have 2 free days home ( no wife, no kid, no duty) and I'm really trying to atke the best advantage of it to work on the fort so...stay tuned

Man! That's awesome! (and in metric system )
As soon as the fort will be finished, I'll have to start this!I'll make the necessary corrections and post it when I'll be working on. I already have the silicon, I think it's time for a resin order.
You can be sure of my gratitude!
I've finished the shooting platform of the right wall:
And I have started to orkify the walls:
There's still a lot to do but I'm confident that I can finish the fort before Wednesday.

Man that firing step is looking completely badass!
I re-measured and fixed the drawing, I still seem to be missing 1mm somewhere I can't quite figure it out, so I split the 1mm on either side of the ladder, more room to fudge the numbers there I supose.
This was a good excersize to reverse engineer the thing, I can tell that the GW Studio guys at the time must have had a bunch of metric strip material when they designed the master. I think 1995/1996 was too early yet for Computer-designed injection molding, but I could be wrong. Automatically Appended Next Post: It's been a really slow day
