What that means is "new rules set forces people to buy more stuff."

The most curious part of this document (for me at least) has to be the fact that it has the code name "Project Prisoner". I have to wonder what in the hell that might mean.

What are they referencing with the prisoner part of that?

The USS Orinoco was a Federation Danube-class runabout that was in service with Starfleet in the late 24th century, attached to Deep Space 9. It was outfitted with a sensor pod.

Actually the boxes they released with 5th edition were well worth it. The Tyranid one was a steal.

£110 - 3 Carnifexes (£75), 6 Tyranid Warriors (£36) and a crap ton of Gaunts and Genestealers. It came out to about £60 of savings. Four boxes, three rather cheap from other sources (I paid £140 for two, LOL) and I had a sizeable chunk of savings.

It also explains how I've got 20+ Carnifexes

Hopefully we'll see some boxes worth the discount with this edition.

I just hope and pray it is not the "Megaforces" that got leaked. I would like to see some GW combo boxed sets that are actually worth it. (And yes, I know the battleforces kind of are. Just not when you already bought everything that comes in them before they got released.)

‎"The scions of the Dark City would never admit that the unceasing hunger at their core is what drives them to such heights of cruelty. Instead they maintain that they act only upon their own desires. Some have even managed to convince themselves of this. In truth, unless our cousins in the webway feed upon a constant diet of extreme emotion they will slowly wither away, leaving naught but a soulless husk. We of the Craftworlds deny all such urges, and in doing so become less than ourselves. Perhaps it is those that we left to perish who are the lucky ones." - Spiritseer Iyanna Arienal, Meditations.

The Megaforces are a christmas release. And they weren't leaked- the pictures can be seen in a gift guide that has been readily available from GW stores for 2 weeks.

EDIT: badly worded sorry.

Wow, I just find it funny that they've called the 6th ed project (if it is 6th ed after all) 'Project Prisoner'... Almost like they want to keep it locked away for a while... oh, wait...

If this were to be taken seriously, how cool would it be if that was a reference to something involving the Lion?

Well, at least they are honest about the reason for the new edition, if only internaly.

Not quite true. Fourth Edition was the only edition that included the concept of model and terrain "sizes" and a definition of "area terrain" that was sized, but there were many exceptions ot TLoS in previous editions. Just as one example, in previous editions, a section of Forest, no matter how thick or thin, could not have LoS drawn from one side to another, and models could only draw LoS a maximum of 2" either into or out of a piece of terrain defined as Forest. This led to some interesting situations where you might have a piece of terrain defined as Forest which was only 1" wide in certain areas, but you could not have a unit on one side of the terrain draw LoS to a unit on the other side, even though you could normally see into up to 2" of Forest terrain.

It doesn't say new army it says new army collectors cards. So possibly a CCG tie in.

Sorry but they're not readily available. GW's search 'megaforce' doesn't bring up anything and splitting the search into 'mega force' CSM megaforce and gives 14+ pages of force weapons and nobs in mega armor. Google did better with an older page http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/catalog/productDetail.jsp?prodId=prod1060109 but that is also not the leaked pics for the xmas release as it contains a predator and the leaked had a LR.

Second row, 3rd column of the sheet. Different 'new army' reference.

I may be naive, but I assumed that was just that salespeople will be advised to try to convince buyers of the new box set or rulebook "Hey, this would be a great time to try a new army, too!" and maybe sell some more product. I can't fault GW for wanting some sales.

Working on someting you'll either love or hate. Hopefully to be revealed by November.

Nah, that's probably just a rehash of the old collector's cards they used to use, "rewarding" you for buying 1 hq, 2 troops, 1 each elite, fa, hs and the codex.

Cynical, not naive. But yeah, that's the impression I got too.

I'm not trying to break this into a True vs. Abstract LOS thread, but I personally do not like TLOS. If I put down a piece of green felt with a single tree on it then the whole thing is a forest, not just where the tree is. 4th Edition's area terrain was a good idea because it allowed more flexibility.

Plus, not everyone had a 4+ cover save.

I would guess that PoS in this case is NOT point of sale, but actually an acronym for the new rule box-set. Like IoB for Island of Blood or AoBR for Assault on Black Reach.

Apologies, that was badly written. The pictures come in a gift guide that has been readily available for two weeks. I'd already had one in my hand a few days before the first pics were posted.
