Helsreach. I think there's ample opportunity to portray some semblance of the utter lack of humanity seen in some Astartes ("Are you a hero?" *blank stare at the little girl who asked*), a good narrative with utterly realistic characters AND their reactions ("Oh, throne..." for example, as well as the slavic guardsman). That, and it's more of an interesting story than HNNNG MUHREENS IN SPACE KILLING THINGS FOR DA EMPRAH--they have to be tactical in their defensive strikes, for example. Some people can adore that. Multiple plot arcs, and character development of Grimaldus are other good reasons.

Good choice in helsreach, though i always struggled to get to grips with grimauldus given his struggle to come to terms with himself... Kinda goes against the role of having unshakable faith lol

Storm of Iron and Dead Sky, Black Sun for movies because it's not a load of fan-boy spooge covered SM

like most BL stuff these days.
I would nominate Eisenhorn for a series.
In fantasy?
The Malus Darkblade books-- they'd make an awesome series.

A Thousand Sons for sure. Its my favorite 40k book, so I'd love to see it as a movie ;D

Regardless of what novel you use, the movie has to be directed by Peter Jackson ( fantasy) or Ridley Scott (40K)

2) Everyone knows what a dwarf is
3) Felix is a character that's very easy to sympathise with, and really grows as a character throughout the series
4) You don't have to explain what everything is and the whole heresy stuff as you would if it was a 40k novel, you can pretty much put everything down to "good" and "evil" for non warhammer followers
5) So many stories to allow for a massive development across the entire series

Space Wolf would be my pick.

There is love interest, relatable characters, character development, classic hero cycle and great action

Agree with Titanicus, though I'd say it should be live-action with lots of CGI, rather than animated.

- the smallness of the people involved emphasises the GIANT ROBOTS

This really, I do however wish to see the Times Of Legned books made into a movie for the same reasons. Particulary the ones regarding Sigmar and Nagash

As some already said I would love to see Gaunts Ghost made into a high budget series (Pacific/Band of Brothers) because I would love to see Guns of Tanith but it would need the lead up.

Film wise though would quite like to see Henry Zou's "Flesh and Iron" or "Emperors Mercy"

"Fifteen Hours" might make an ok film

Gaunt's Ghosts is an epic. A miniseries like the Pacific would NOT do it justice.

Oh no I agree, high bubget series all the way but I think trying to compress the books into even a three hour film would be criminal. So a high budget series for each book would be full on awesome

I agree, many movie adaptations of books have suffered from a lack of time (I'm looking at you LOTR). Maybe a two or even three part cinema movie? Or an extended edition just for DVD?

, isn't first and only also short stories as well, definatley one of the first books. It's done as flash backs but was a way to link all the stories abnett had done before.

Ghostmaker, the second book, is flashbacks to flesh out the main Tanith characters. They could release each book as a series (six episodes?)

Yes, it is set on Monthax.

I didn't know First And Only was in two parts. I suppose you could make it into three episodes (Fortis Binary, Cracia and the Empyrean, Menazoid Sigma)

Yeah I remember reading some where that abnett threw some shorter stories together for it, might have been in the foreword of Sabbat Worlds

Blood Angel Omnibus. The fight scenes between Raffen and his brother and the transformation Arkio goes through are amazing. I would like to see JJ Abrams take on this.
