Dark Angels/Space Wolves:
In the darkest hours of the 13th Black Crusade, the Sons of the Lion and the Wolf put aside there squabbling and fight and die side by side, bothers in arms against chaos.

Imperial Guard/ Sisters of Battle:
On an Imperial Shrine world, the whispers of chaos have corrupted the local Priesthood and have caused them to rebel against the Imperium. The Adeptus Ministorum declares a Holy crusade to cleanse the plane; Imperial Guard Regiments are mustard to fight along side their own Women at Arms. With faith and tread, the heretics will suffer the ultimate punishment.

Idea 1: A proper Big Mek ork army
Probably would along the lines of a battlewagon bash type list. Would be using IG as a way to bring proper looted russes, either vanilla or demolishers. The Leman Russes would back up the battlewagons, as well as provide good armor saturation (ALL FEAR MY AV14 ) meanwhile, I'd take a guard platoon and either a CCS, Primaris Pysker, or even a Lord Commissar. The guardsmen would be modelled as grots that are there to help the mek working on vehicles. May even make a "warboss" with a commissar hat to represent the lord commissar. Could be an awesome fluffy/competitive army.
Brilliant. Absolutely Brilliant.

I think the best combo would be death guard allied with nurgle daemons (including epidemius). T5 marines wounding on 2+ with 3+ FNP and ignoring armour saves!

I bet we'll see this a few times in tournaments.

“Because we couldn’t be trusted. The Emperor needed a weapon that would never obey its own desires before those of the Imperium. He needed a weapon that would never bite the hand that feeds. The World Eaters were not that weapon. We’ve all drawn blades purely for the sake of shedding blood, and we’ve all felt the exultation of winning a war that never even needed to happen. We are not the tame, reliable pets that the Emperor wanted. The Wolves obey, when we would not. The Wolves can be trusted, when we never could. They have a discipline we lack, because their passions are not aflame with the Butcher’s Nails buzzing in the back of their skulls.
The Wolves will always come to heel when called. In that regard, it is a mystery why they name themselves wolves. They are tame, collared by the Emperor, obeying his every whim. But a wolf doesn’t behave that way. Only a dog does.
That is why we are the Eaters of Worlds, and the War Hounds no longer."

I'd probably hurl my codex or at least give a death glare at anyone who tried to say that Epidemius affects Mark of Nurgle chaos space marine units. And I'd probably not be alone in doing so.

The tally of pestilence rule says "these cumulative bonuses affect all followers of Nurgle". This includes plague marines and chaos marines with the mark of Nurgle. It has been known in doubles tournaments for a Death Guard player to be with a Nurgle daemon army for this very reason.

What I meant was :

minimum main army - 1 hq 2 troop + 3 desired elites

ally army - 1 hq 1 troop + 1 desired elite

= 2 hq, 3 troop 4 elites

Or possibly trade non hq, non troop slots on a 2 for 1 basis - so I want to do a fast attack army - I drop 2 HS and take +1 fast attack?

SoB/GK. not so much for the GK, who I wouldn't use, but for all the inquisitorial units the SoB codex lost - and maybe even a psychic hood in the army! Crazy, the witch hunters getting access to some kind of psychic defense.

I'm thinking Thousand Sons with Kalabite Dark Eldar, to represent the sorcerers hiring mercenaries in their hunt for artifacts, plus the dark eldar warrior models are nice as well and I could use them with my Iyanden eldar as well, to recreate the incident mentioned in the dark eldar codex.
And of course Imperial guard for traitors and Tzeentch daemons for proper lords of change ect.

Yes, I use Swooping Hawks, they are lovely models so why not?

Mandorallen turned back toward the insolently sneering baron. 'My Lord,' The great knight said distantly, 'I find thy face apelike and thy form misshapen. Thy beard, moreover, is an offence against decency, resembling more closely the scabrous fur which doth decorate the hinder portion of a mongrel dog than a proper adornment for a human face. Is it possibly that thy mother, seized by some wild lechery, did dally at some time past with a randy goat?' - Mimbrate Knight Protector Mandorallen.
