I'd love to have an Oreo Inquisitor. Is he vulnerable to milk templates? Perhaps his perils of the warp involve him twisting apart. I'm sure he's got a hard exterior, but he's a softy on the inside.//
Okay, I'm done.

I'm looking forward to combining CSM with Daemons and BT with Coteaz and Crusaders/Assassins. Oh happy day...

I'm surprised nobody volunteered Vulkan helping out the Blood Angels for all the melty goodness-IF Vulkan's abilities affect your whole army. Depends on FAQ I guess.

Reality is a nice place to visit, but I'd hate to live there.

The combination of codices I'm planning on using only makes good fluffy sense within my custom fluff.

Sisters of Battle and vanilla Space Marines. I gather, from what I've read, that Sisters of Battle and Space Marines generally wouldn't team up too closely because of their inherent ideological differences.

The gist of it is that some xenos guy managed to convert some captured Chaos Marines away from their former gods as the Imperial planet he's on tries to fight off a Chaos invasion. I forget the exact reason I came up with, but a bunch of Sisters of Battle were sent to "escort" - read, take prisoner - the xenos guy back to the local Imperial base. He resists, a scuffle ensues, and the Sisters of Battle are exposed to some weird technology that screws with most of their minds. Some successfully resist it thanks to their faith neutralizing that technology's effects, but most end up reluctantly renouncing their alleigance to the Ecclesiarchy, since they know exactly what'll happen if they return with these heretical thoughts in their minds. They end up faking their deaths and allying with the xenos (I did mention that their minds were pretty messed up, right?) and the former Chaos Marines.

Vanilla Marines are what I've used to represent the former Chaos Marines, since they no longer have any of that funky Chaos God stuff.

A lot of the custom fluff is based heavily on WH40k-themed roleplaying sessions I've done over the past couple of years with a good friend of mine.

- Space Wolves with Valhallan Ice Warriors. Pretty self explanatory.

- Kjarl Grimblood themed SW army with Hellhounds. For those that don't know, according to SW fluff Kjarl Grimblood is a Wolf Lord who loves flamers. As a rite of passage, Grey Hunters under Grimblood who kill an enemy in battle with flame are allowed to to paint blood on their faces before each battle.

- Flesh Tearers (BA chapter) with Deff Dreads and Killa Kanz. The chapter with a buzzsaw blade as their symbol with buzzsaw wielding robots.

That said, in this thread we're ignoring stuff like that. We're just trying to come up with fun ideas regardless of whether they're legal or not. And besides, we haven't seen the official chart yet anyways, so we won't know for certain until next week.

Who knows, maybe nids can ally with everyone

I'm thinking platoons backed with stealer run tanks taking a contingent of Genestealers and a Hive Tyrant (run as a Genestealer Patriarch, if I can get my hands on it or get a similar model) and maybe use the elites slot as Ymargl Genies.

Orks and anything, because you can just represent the Allies with looted equipment on more Orks. I'm currently putting SM pauldrons and backpacks on a bunch of Shoota boyz so they can run double duty as Tacticals.

I'm also in agreement with Shadowbrand - finally, a proper way to represent Tau and Gueve'sa auxilliaries.

THIS.

At first though I was having trouble with Orks + Chaos Daemons. I mean I love orks and everyone knows they're the best, but even I was having trouble reconciling LOOTED DAEMON in my head. Fortunately though I've managed to come up with a fluff justification for it:

One day an ork warband was about to get into a big scrap with some marine boyz. The warboss, knowing his mob was in for some hard fightin', ordered his weirdboyz to pray for the favor of Gork in the upcoming battle.

However Gork was feeling kinda lazy that day plus he had a splitting headache drinking too much. Still, it wouldn't look good if those beakies krumped my boyz, they might start getting high and mighty and full of themselves, so I suppose I should do something Gork thought to himself.

So Gork stretched out his hand through the warp and grabbed a Great Unclean One by the scruff of his neck. He then shook the GUO around like a wet rag and bellowed in its face:

You chaos boyz are a pansy lot, but you're green so I guess you'll have to do!! Now look here!! My boyz are gearing up for a fight but I can't be arsed to help them, so YOU is gonna do it! Round up some of your BO boyz and get hoppin', or I'll make you sorry!

Then Gork punched the GUO in the face so hard it ripped a hole in the warp and the daemon fell through it, right into the war camp of the astonished orks.

At first the orks panicked and ran around reaching for their weapons, but it immediately became clear that the daemon was not there to attack them. Instead it was crying and blubbering and begging to be ordered around for the coming battle. Then the orks rejoiced knowing that their gods had heard their prayers and were the hardest gods of all.

THE END

I told my opponants that the two had reconciled their differences and were now drinking buddies.

I wouldn't, because I wouldn't try to run it. It just doesn't ever some to have any fluff reasoning. I hope GW proves me wrong and makes something reasonable. If I was going to do it this is how I'd explain it:

I'll be making two Chaos armys out of my existing chaos army, my Daemons and my IG armies.

One World Eaters force, lots of 'Zerkers led by Kharn with some Bloodletters and a Bloodthirster, maybe some crushers too if points permit.

Then I'll be doing a Nurgle CSM + IG army. A big squad of half dead, nurgle'd up guardsmen, the FW plague hulk as a defiler and probably Typhus. If the new dex does include cultists, they'll probably go here too.

I'm work blocked and can't see your image.

Anyway I'm confused, I guess you don't like the ally system at all? Because all evidence points towards orks being able to 'ally' with demons. Gameplay-wise I doubt I'll ever do it. Fluff-wise I wanted to come up with an explanation for why it would happen, since everything else can be explained by looting. And I don't see why you'd object to my story? Its pretty well established that Gork and Mork are the strongest gods in the warp, so its entirely possible for them to slave a chaos demon and force it to do their bidding. They beat up on Nurgle himself, a GUO should be no problem.
