Tempted to jump on an early bird also, but I'm trying to stick to my guns (and my budget) here. Should I bet on an inability to resist and grab the discount? Dunno!

I wouldn't worry. Early Birds will open up during the course of the KS as people dropout for whatever trivial reasons people seem to drop out of KS's.

I look forward to the endless gak storm of complaints and nonsense that every Dakka KS thread always involves, and realisation that it could be much worse whenever some brave Dakkanaut ventures over to BGG to see the crybabies over there.

[EDIT]: Ok, so "gak" and "storm", when put together, is one thing the Dakka's unnecessary "you're obviously swearing but we'll feebly try to hide it" word filter doesn't know about.

One of the biggest bellyaching complaints during the last kickstarter was the lack of a rulebook before the kickstarter ended. I noticed that the Toxic City Mall rulebook and Zombie Dogz rules were previewed before the Kickstarter even started this time around.

On a different note, I got really pumped when I realized that we are talking about a minimum of 1o new survivors. There are 4 in Toxic CIty Mall, 6 in Prison Break, and an nunkown number of Promo figures, both freebie and Add-on. Not to mention the 7? promo figures from the last Kickstarter...
We are going from 9 to 26+ survivors. The game is pretty custom survivor friendly, but with 26+ choices, you have a lot of options to play with.

Yah , I'm stoked. Guillotine really has their head on straight with how they're pumping up this expansion. The game is just so darn fun.

I have to agree. I'm not sure I want anything more than the base game. I might buy the prison tiles just for the claustrophobic atmosphere. But the fact that they've put out so much information is amazing. If I do back the project I won't feel like I'm gambling at all.

This maybe a silly question but does anyone know if this will be able to be played without the original zombicide?

Toxic Mall, no. That is an expansion

Prison Outbreak, yes. That is a standalone

Though you could get both the Prison Outbreak and the Toxic Mall and you'll be good

Thanks! I might get in on this then, Ive heard nothing but great things about zombicide.

I can already see the naysayers creep out the wood work about a second kickstarter. I hope that stays to a minimum. Board Games don't have tremendous resale potential i.e. you buy the box once. You'll buy support products but I doubt very many people will buy 2 core sets. It isn't like other products where you buy 6 tactical squad boxes, tanks, all all this other stuff and alot of the money goes to production and salaries.

Give these guys a break. Their bringing a very cool game at a very good price and I for one will support all the products they make concerning Zombicide as long as its new and not ridiculously redundant. I'm pretty stoked about this. I've had nothing but fun for my 100 Buck pledge.

If you haven't played do yourself a favor n pick it up. Great game

We may as well get this over with now. I'll grab an early bird, and based on the amount of extra crap thrown in the Zombicide, Sedition Wars and Rivet Wars Kickstarters, I'll assume they'll be piling on the extras. Since Zombies (especially) and survivors are likely to be cross-compatible amongst similar games and figure ranges (Last Night on Earth series, Zombies!!!, Nurgle, Dark Legion, Incursion, SotTR, Hasslefree survivors, Studio Miniatures Zombies, maybe even Sedition Wars, etc, etc) I foresee no reason I'll be withdrawing my pledge, (Rivet wars wasn't as cross-compatible, and the gameplay video was not super exciting - which was why I pulled the plug, as explained earlier). I don't foresee a likelihood of dropping my pledge, but if I need to for some reason like bills eating all of my money, I'll let the forum know in the last day or two, so someone here can grab it. Don't hold yer breath, though.

Right? Done.

What's it like with just 2 players? I may have a chance to crack open my new box this weekend...

There is a downsize to this KickStarter Fad. I'm more than happy to pledge my support to get a new game into the market and build up a dedicated gaming community via all the reasons mentioned above, using a Kickstarter.

Now the game is established. There is a gaming community. The FLGS now need the business of the expansions in order to give us all an alternative gaming venue, or somewhere to go when we can't internet order. By runing the expansion KickStarter, there is no reason for any FLGS to stock this line of game.

I didn't back Zombiecide but I did back others like Sedition Wars, Kingdom Death etc. If expansions come out for these games, I'll be buying them locally.

A bit of everything really....... Titanicus, Bolt Action, Cruel Seas, Black Seas, Blood Red Skies, Kingdom Death, Relic Knights, DUST Tactics, Zombicide the lit goes on.............

My local internet store (local, as in, here in Australia) isn't exactly hurting for my business despite the amount I've spent on KS. I spend a gakload there. My local game store isn't somewhere I choose to play, and the prices aren't a worthwhile alternative to buying online and playing at home.

Early birds went in about 1-2 minutes, at the most. There were 30 still available, and by the time I clicked on it, they were all gone.

Since there's apparently a horde of people overwhelming the page, I went in for an early bird on the S1+2 complete package instead. Depending on what exactly is in the Season 1 set included, I might have to pull my pledge back to the Season 2 complete, since I just got my base boxed game.

From what the page says, I think Season 1 is just the original box... which I needed anyway, so I'm glad I managed to get one of the TCM early bird specials

Ouch. I wonder if they are carefully rearranging stretch goals so they havn't already been overtaken yet

Stretch goals for this one are going to be interesting. Seeing as they're already over $90k now, and will probably be over 100k by the time I finish this post. It's probably going to be a bit slow to add them, comparatively - and I imagine that they'll probably be based heavily on add-ons, given that getting people to go in on the game is clearly not a problem. Similarly, with everyone going in on Day 1, this one may well flatten out much more than other campaigns we've watched following the Day 1-2 spike.

Yep. $98k+ now. Looks like my $100k to write a forum post was spot on. 10 words later and we're over $100k.

Missed out on the $140 set. So $150 for me it seems, plus postage.

The original game is heaps of fun, so I am really looking forward to this.

That's interesting Season 2 contains another tray of the original zombies, no need to buy more of them now.

That's why I grabbed the complete set early bird. Easy enough to drop back down to the $150 level down the line.

Anyway, that's enough for me. I'm going to bed! I expect you and HBMC to do the same!

You're right. Prison Outbreak has a tray of regular zombies + another Abomination.

That's nice.

How useful/important do you find the extra set of (S1) Base game tiles?

I'm a little disappointed that there was no "double biohazard" type thing, to give 2 sets of all the S2 expack tiles.

I've not used more than one set of the tiles, but I do want to make up some of my own missions for this game.

And I live in WA, slept during the day due to a long Friday night, and now are fine. You go to bed!

I think my friends will get in at $205. It's a pretty good price point I have to say, if you don't mind missing out on the survivors from Season 1.

Wow, 100K in 10 minutes. Certainly helps to let people know when you're launching!

I'm going to wave my "kickstarter hipster" flag and stay on the sidelines since my money is already allocated for RBG, Mecha Front and a few others coming... but it's certainly fun to watch!

Edit: Also, 2 of my friends got in on this and I think got the early birds (I alerted them to when it was going live last night). So, I'll have plenty of chances to play it!

Well, Guillotine have made the cards for the KS survivors available on their website, so it's just a matter of trying to track down appropriate figures for them. Zombivivor figures might be a touch harder, though...

And yes, I want to go to bed, but after getting up at 2:30am, I'm wide awake. :(
