We booked our hotel a week ago, got one a 5 minute drive away, for $70 a night for 4 people, 2 beds. A nice chain hotel. How much do drinks and food cost at the event? This will be the first time us Canucks get to make it down.

A couple things for those who have yet to make hotel arrangements for AdeptiCon 2015:
We are at or near capacity most nights with the Schaumburg Convention Center Hotel.
For people wanting to stay on property, our hotel representative has put together a wait list and will work to get reservations into the property as space becomes available. It is best to email us at info@adepticon.org , and we will pass along our hotel contact information instructions for getting added to the property hotel wait list.
Additionally, we have setup an alternate hotel block at the
Embassy Suites Chicago - Schaumburg/Woodfield
1939 North Meacham Road, Schaumburg, Illinois, 60173
USA TEL: +1-847-397-1313
This is hotel offers similar amenities and is within walking distance of the Schaumburg Convention Center at an AdeptiCon rate of 120.00. Arrangements have been made for shuttle service between the two hotels for convenient transportation.
Additionally, if you have already made other hotel arrangements, outside of these two locations, we would love to hear about it. Please pass along the information to info@adepticon.org
This is also a good time to remind everyone that if, for whatever reasons, your plans change and you are unable to attend AdeptiCon, please release your hotel reservation so someone else can make use of it
Thank you
- Hank

In conjunction with the move to the new venue, development has begun behind the scenes as we prepare to kick AdeptiCon 2015 planning into full gear. One of the more significant changes in the coming year will be regarding how we handle demos, event games and smaller tournaments. In the past, space restrictions forced us to micromanage these events so that they all fit within the hotel and made sense with regards to the schedule. We will no longer have this problem at the Renaissance Schaumburg Convention Center...we have the space...and we need more games! We are looking for a few good game masters to run demos, historical events, specialty games, board games, and anything else that makes sense!
AdeptiCon 2015 Event Submission is now open to the public. If you are interested in running an event, please take the time to look over the form and get it submitted as soon as possible. Some things to keep in mind:
Space and schedules are limited. Events that are new to AdeptiCon should be scaled appropriately to justify inclusion in the schedule based on space required and realistic attendance expectations. AdeptiCon will work with you to properly scale your event.
AdeptiCon reserves the right to refuse any event submission due to content or schedule/space saturation.
All required fields MUST BE fully completed when submitting this form. Incomplete submissions or submissions with placeholders will not be accepted.
Spell check your event descriptions!
Event Submission will close at 5PM CDT on October 3rd, 2014.
You will receive an email after the schedule has been resolved in mid-October with your scheduling details.
If you have any questions, please get in touch!
I am really looking forward to this
I don't have an event to submit, but I just sent you guys an idea for an existing event I've participated in a few times! Hope I sent it in in time . Just noticed that the OP says registration is early November due to your revamping the registration process, so still a few months away yet!

How do you go about booking at the Adepticon rate at the alternate hotel? Seems like the main hotel is already booked if you want rooms for the actual event.

Warhammer 40K Championship Draft Construction Rules
Updated: Our was intention for this event to allow unrestricted Allies, yet it was not completely clear in the first version of the draft rules. This has been amended.
With AdeptiCon 2015 planning in full swing, we have turned our attention to ironing out the army construction rules for our major Warhammer 40K events. Below you will find a draft version for the Warhammer 40K Championship. The goal was to keep the rules as simple and succinct as possible while embracing the open nature of Warhammer 40K 7th Edition. That said, you will notice a few restrictions built into the army construction rules, such as: Codex Detachments and Formations are considered unique and may not be duplicated, a small handful of Lords of War have been excepted from the event, Lords of War and Fortifications are limited to a single unit regardless of how many are available to your detachments...
As always, we are looking for constructive feedback concerning this format. If you have any questions or comments, please get in touch! Stay tuned for the Warhammer 40K Team Tournament Draft rules, scoring guidelines for both events and sample missions!

Interesting that LOW allowed. Kind of disappointed everyone is till following the 1 Primary 1 Allied , at least let it be 2 Combined :(.
This is going to be my first Adepticon I am planning to attend the Narratives and scenarios, do those sorts of things require bringing miniatures?

No problemo. And by 7th edition I mean codexes that don't have alternate FoC's in them and aren't formatted like the last 3.

That's the same thing though, it's just 1 Ally , 1 Formation etc..
The problem is that several 7th edition codexes now have full formations that are a complete army (Space Wolves), so you can take a Primary and 1 detachment of Space Wolves and have double the HQs as anyone else.
It just benefits Imperial players pretty much.
I mean other than Tyranids no one has any other really awesome formations. Which sucks.
I mean seriously in those points you can take a Formation of Assassins , Adamantine Lance, then still take a Primary.

It's not 1 formation. It's as many formations as you want. Each one can only be taken once.
And yes, at the moment Orks, GK's, and Space Wolves can for all intensive take two force orgs (or 3 with space wolves and 3 with orks). Which is why I said any book without a special force org in it can self-ally. It's not a perfect solution but what is.
As for actual good formations chaos has 1-2, Orks have quite a few, Tyranids have some good ones, and yes, there are a few good imperial ones too. Open formations actually most benefit Orks, who have a ridiculous number of excellent formations.
All in all it's the most open, extremely large event you're likely to see. To me it's nearly perfect. Just a few more LoW restrictions and self allying and we're golden.

Some of the "non" 7th ed codexes already allow it.
CSM/Black Legion/Crimson Slaughter can all effectively self ally.
Tau/Farsight Enclaves can self Ally
Imperials can do pretty much whatever they want.
That leaves:
Necrons (likely updated before Adepticon)
Dark Eldar (likely updated before Adepticon)
Tyranids (likely the odd man out but there are like 16 formations and some swanky LoW to choose from)
Deamons (The ability to drawn in CSM and friends though provides options and these guys also have some swanky LoW choices)
Eldar (limited ally abilities and 1 formation but can ally with Tau/Farsight and Dark Eldar)
We have also left ally levels unrestricted (for now) so just about everyone has a ton of options.
We got your feedback and will be compiling and continuing to test over the next few months.
Regards,
Chris

So why are most Lords of war being allowed and the select few are being banned. The a Transcendent C'tan makes Necrons competitive agaisnt all armies, without it Necrons have a hard struggle against most top tier armies. The transcendent C'tan also is hardly more powerful than what is already allowed in the LoW like stompas and even units like Wraithknights which are on par with the power level of a T. C'tan and are half the points.

Yeah, no. The Transcendent C'tan is so over the top he's not even funny. Sorry but I don't know a single person, competitive or non-competitive, TO or non- TO, who doesn't put it in a category of over the top. Not sure how you equip yours but he's insanely brutal if equipped correctly. And Necrons at the moment are one of the very best armies against most top tier builds with several solid builds of their own (without the tranny).
@Rhysk
List of armies that can't self-ally (not saying they all should or would but the actual list):
Necrons
Dark Eldar
Eldar
Tyranids
Daemons
Blood Angels
Dark Angels
Imperial Guard
Sisters of Battle
Some of those are imperial and can ally with other imperials but it's not self-allying. Some of those will likely be updated before Adepticon. Personally, I'm probably playing orks or space wolves at the moment so self-allying doesn't matter to me. But I just think it's more fair to the armies that don't have access to new force orgs within their faction to have the option to self ally.
And I love that you guys left the allies unrestricted. From a modeling perspective it's awesome. From a game play perspective I think it's fine with the deployment limitations.
Like I said, I'm fine with it as it but the only two things I'm throwing in the ring are self-ally (which is the lower of the two) and more limited LoW or at least their weapons (which is a big one). Thanks for all the hard work. Looking forward to Adepticon already

For whatever it's worth, I would also encourage allowing Self-Ally if CAD are restricted, in large part because most armies still don't have access to a CAD-like formation, whereas Imperials basically all get access to it via the Wolves, plus have other special types of detachment (formations in general are harder sells, since they are in MOST cases fixed ... i.e., the Skyblight Formation doesn't let you select 0-1 / 0-2 / etc. of things, it just mandates a fixed number of points whether they fit well or not).
Self-ally within an 1850 or so points environment largely solves the problem, as very few people will run more than 4 of an elite/fast/heavy even if they can, due to points limitations.

Rather excited about this. Despite living in Chicago for as long as Adepticon has existed, I've never gone. I signed up to run a particpation game of 28mm scale Mech Attack so I'm jumping in with both feet.
For those concerned about the new Venue, don't be. It's a great place with TONS of space. It's been the location for Brickworld for the past couple years and has worked very well. The one thing it lacks compared to some other venues is carpeting in the convention hall, but it's a fair trade for more space IMHO.

@namiel - Our AdeptiCon WFB team is on it. It is a little early yet, and as with any new edition or significant change we have to get our hands around it a bit first. That said we ran somewhere around 12+ Warhammer Fantasy Events last year covering all sorts of formats and styles. So I have to believe that whatever changes the new edition brings, our AdeptiCon Warhammer Fantasy events will have something for everyone at a variety of points values.

I really like the format, for what it's worth! (And I'm definitely attending, as are most of the folks who posted above, I think)
I'm excited to NOT have self-allying this time next year- it makes things simpler for me to plan, and I agree that at GW's current rate most books should have been updated by then. If it was a tournament this year, it'd be quite different, of course.
As far as more limited LOW selections- I am not experienced enough to have opinions about this, but even I have heard the horror stories of the two you banned, so I'm glad they're gone! Certainly makes me consider whether I want to invest in a LOW for my 'nids, though.

Should really consider putting the Revenent in that LoW ban list esp with the Reaver and others.
It has 75% damage mitigation from the holo fields and still producing a lot of volume of fire power. Otherwise, you will have people taking that because there is really no other reason not too .

One of the best counters to the Revenant is the C'tran; removal of it makes the Revenant a pretty automatic selection. That said, we ran Lords of War with a nerf to D weapons even in the Narrative event at NOVA, and the Trios event. The feedback was NOT positive, especially from the more casual attendees. So, no matter the ban list, you're probably going to have people complaining no matter what you do. It's a good step that the C'Tran is not included.

The Transcendent C'tan is beatable. Grav weapons, poison, drop pod spam, the tau army, other lords of war all counter the T. C'tan pretty well. It's no more powerful than Eldar or tau are by themselves, the revenent Titan, beast stat or many of the other top builds. The C'tan is a huge points investment, and leaves the player with few other units for board control. However, it is a good threat and success ful counter to units like beast star, thunderwolves, death wing, other LoW etc. the Necrons have something powerful and which makes us very competitve, and it's being banned. It's faction favoritism, a single Wraithknight is half the points of a well built T. C'tan. It can be buffed to a level of survivability with comparable damage output, and can be healed. A T. C'tan can never be buffed with psychic powers and only has Zandrehk to give any additional special ablities. Invisibility alone is more broken than th T. C'tan.
