Just getting the base colours down ready to wash, all of my troops will have a pretty bog standard paint scheme, but collectively they will look pretty nice when washed!

And finally a finished unit! still need the static grass and leaves for the base! This reminds me!!

I was thinking of some autumn woodland type bases for my units, its seems like a really under rated type of base and not many people have done it,
so i wanted to be different. Can't wait to see how it turns out!

Anyway for the most part this unit is finished apart from picking out a bunch of studs and random things, but you get the picture!
Love how these dirty peasants turned out, will do an update when they have their movement tray and they are fully finished!

Okay so sorry for the quality of the pictures again but im updating via my phone at my girlfriends house so this shall have to do haha.

So i bought some basing kit ready for my Autumn/Fall bases, heres the Gale Force 9 Arid static and the Battlefields Steppe static.
I planned on mixing the two at a 1:1 ratio to create a dying grass look to go with the autumn leaves.

Nicely done.

What made you decide to paint all the knights with the same livery and not individual livery?

well as i was doing a Game of Thrones Lannister theme i thought that it would be nice to have the whole unit under the same banner, but after painting them i have decided that each individual unit will be painted under a different banner instead of the individual knight. Just makes a change i guess.

Cool idea.

What's your plan for Tyrion? Remember, you may have to make him a head shorter next year lol

Haha yeah im not exactly sure as of yet, if i get an extra paladin model i may devise a way to get Tryion in there Might see a bit of sculpting work coming up
And i really hope he wont be on the chopping block for next years season.

UPDATE:
Now as the box set didn't include a 16th archer I'm guessing I'm supposed to use the left over body in the command sprue and somehow magic up an archer? ..challenge accepted..

Now i know I've been slightly lazy posting recently however I've been very hard at work getting my army up to scratch, as i pretty much finished painting my battalion before my opposition, I'm now just focusing on details and finishing touches, will also do a tutorial on making movement trays soon!! Just keeping myself occupied

I have decided to have a lot of substitute models in my army as GW are (or SHOULD) now be currently working on the new Bretonnian box sets

But to be honest, i think if i can use models from other sources and tie them in with the Games Workshop ones then i think it will make my army so much more interesting!

SO.. you'll be seeing a mixture of things on here, such as my lord on hippogryph, some may argue this is a waste of points, but after i saw this model.. i just coudn't help myself, it had to happen!
And with all my movement tray materials on the way along with a new set of knights and my 'substitute' battle standard bearer i think I'm well on my way to a good solid Bret force!

And now for something relevant to the pictures, these are all going to be my army in its current state, WIP or finished.

Right so as i was saying, i'm going to be using a lot of sub models in my army, including this stunning miniature from Titan Forge 'The Grandmaster of The Lion Order' ..

..How fitting..

This may be my substitute miniature for The Great Tywin Lannister, wealthiest man in Westeros, we shall see, still needs work.

Hey guys and gals! got a nice treat for you today, more of my knights FINALLY arrived through the post after waiting for what seems an age for them to be sent.
But i didn't want the to look identical to the previous unit so here are a few little alterations i've made! The musician also had a drum now so that shall be in the next update.

SO, what house do you think they should be? Was trying to think who the Lannisters allies were and thought possibly the Baratheons? Either that or the Tyrells? Obviously depending on what time period the army would be set in but I'm not hugely bothered. I am using house Clegane but probably only for my Paladins however this may change.

What do you think? Can you think of any other allies the Lannisters have?
Anyway, here we go..

Awesome! What head did you use for that guy on the right with the chain mail coif? I think you should go for tyrell, the green knight would make a cool knight of flowers.

Yeah i was leaning towards Tyrell, believe it or not it was just one of the peasant archer heads, just picked the more ordinary looking faces. Ahah

So i picked up this little beauty on ebay for a good price, was thinking even though its not in my list it would make a good grail relique when added to some sort of contraption, i may also add a sword also, sorry i havent updated in a while, got some big progress going on at the moment so keep an eye out for a big update soon!!
