To this day I still don't know what a 'white latino' is. I guess it's what a latino person becomes when they kill a non-white. If it had been done in reverse, would it have been a white African-American?


Anyway, these flags sound amazing. If they had a rainbow filter they'd be even better!

I think it is someone from Spain, meaning someone of European decent that speaks Spanish. It probably isn't as big a problem in the US but as I understand it in Mexico and South America you have lots of indigenous people as well as the decedents of the Spanish explorers and those that shared a love whose name that shall not be said*. The main visual difference is that some appear European, or white, and others not so much.

I'm sure you've heard the phrase, "forging the narrative". Aside from GW's usage of the term, it's a concept the American media embrace enthusiastically. Ethnic minority vs. _______ is not a news story. White (Anglo/Germanic) vs. _______ is. Therefore a "white" latino is someone who isn't "ethnic" enough to derail the narrative or kill TV ratings.

When English and French colonized, they normally did not integrate with native peoples. When Spain did, they integrated which left a lot of natives, mixed-race and Caucasians living in one society. This lead to an 'ethnic heritage' being created opposed to a 'race'. Of course through general tribalism and good old fashion racism, the lighter your skin and the more 'Caucasian' you appeared, the higher your stature was in that society as your linage could be more closely traced back to Europe.

In today's US census, if you are Latino, you are normally anywhere from native peoples, mixed-race or Caucasian (but technically can be any race really). Hence why we have Latino, non-Latino as a heritage which is separate from race.

The interesting aspect is that over the past 10 years, more people who identified themselves as 'mixed race Latino heritage' have changed their demographic to 'Caucasian Latino heritage'. A large shift simply because people change where they identify for who knows why.

Yeah, there never were many french colonists in the first place. They had good relations with the natives, but there was little intermingling simply because there was only 1 french for every few thousand natives.

The Spanish also worked many of the natives to death as slaves, reducing the ratio. This was actually one of the driving factors behind importing African slaves, they'd worked the natives to death/they'd died of disease and they needed slaves who were stronger and wouldn't die from the flu.

George Zimmerman is half white, half Latino. His father is of German descent (hence 'Zimmerman').

I recall, when I worked at a very large refinery near Houston, during a heated and lengthy contract renegotiation with the Union, that all of the employees on one shift in a polymers plant went out and got their CHLs and then posted them on the Union Board, which management walked past every day on their way into the control room.

Since you are in need of learning:
Otaku is a derogatory term for someone who has an obsession (nowadays with either pop culture of computers, so simply carrying a gun regularly wouldn't qualify). Don't be so quick to throw words out there if you don't know what they actually mean.



Onto the subject, I'm not terribly surprised by either the store owner, or Zimmerman. The owner wouldn't have made the news of not for the Z man, and George is pretty much unemployable, so this is probably his only way to make a living at this point. When the store has to shut down due to the owner having his pants sued off, Zimmerman will end up somewhere else in the news 6 months from now. Keep him on the bingo card

There are actually a lot more white muslims than you might think: Bosnians, Albanians, Chechnyans and other Caucasian peoples, Tatars, and many Syrians, Lebanese, Kurds etc. are white too. Equating muslims with Arabs or saying that muslims are almost always dark-skinned is really stupid.
