I'd play that!
Aside from color changes in the plastic, most (all?) of the licensed Monopoly sets I have still use the traditional square houses and rectangle hotels. The only component changes are the money (same colors as traditional Monopoly money but usually with themed changes to the face) the event cards (same events but text is changed to match themed set) and the player tokens.

That would be pretty cool!
In the "Wizard of Oz" Monopoly set they have a mechanic where when you land on a "railroad" (I forget what they actually are on that board) you get hit by a twister and sucked up into Oz. You roll a D6, get a random result (usually money from the bank and or making another player pay you money), and can pop out on the board from another "railroad" space.
If the 40k set had a mechanic like that for the Warp that would be neat.

It's not common, but they have done it. The Theme packs had themed houses(there was Dog one that replaced them with dog houses), so while a long shot, it could theoretically happen.

Is it common for themed Monopoly boards to not use unique artwork for the Go/Go To Jail/Jail/Free Parking spaces?
If they can be custom, then they missed a golden opportunity to 40K-er-ise them.

Usually they are standard Monopoly artwork, so I'm not surprised to see that here.

Inconsistent how? Each major faction gets one set. Frankly, I am surprised Sisters got one too (though figures it would be the cheapest one)

I am biased because I like these sort of sets, but the board looks pretty cool to me.
I like that the railroads are Eldar Craftworlds. It makes me wonder if they will have a warping game mechanic like the Wizard of Oz railroads.
Definitely a buy for me. Looking forward to seeing what the tokens look like!

I’m surprised it took so long. Monopoly pairs with anything they can.
When my town got one I knew they were scraping for things to make. (I can’t believe there is only 1000 odd versions)
Realistically I doubt it means there will be anything else coming between the two companies, irrelevant of the history of MB.
GW just partner with everyone more willingly now.
All these games and apps, munchkin 40k, list goes on.
I wonder if it was because Fantasy Flight had the exclusivity before for any kind of board game. That limited their options

I think its also because new GW management is in a process of attracting a bigger younger audience. They are reasserting their market dominance and ensuring that they are paving the way for a new generation of fans in a big way.
40K Conquest; the Schools program, the computer game market; Monopoly, Munchkin, card games etc....
GW is casting a wide net and is looking to reap the rewards in terms of increased market awareness and thus also increases popularity and uptake of new players. It's an essential step to ensure that they don't stagnate and end up relying on an ever ageing fanbase as if that happens it can seriously stifle future growth (generation pressure happens and its harder to get teenagers and younger people into a game if all the clubs are run and full of 60 year olds).
Plus all the while many of these fringe projects bring profit indirectly to GW and in some cases directly too from their existing fanbase. So even if they don't net new people they are still netting gains from their existing market. So its basically a win-win for GW.
