Going to be painting the dark angels librarian from the 7th edition dark vengeance set. He's been gathering dust for a bit too long, so I figured this was a pretty good excuse to cover him in some liquid pigment. Nothing fancy planned, mainly box colours with a little variation depending on what paints I actually have. Good luck to everyone else, especially to whoever took on the monolithic challenge of painting a Lord of Skulls.

Cheers

Don’t you have to fly a few thousand miles north to sort that out?

By confusing my phone into thinking that it isn't in Australia, but instead in the northern hemisphere, I am able to post images the right way up.

If the omnissiah will allow me, that is.

Jadenim pulling ahead... damnit

I tried out some Zenithal shading as a new technique.

However i think I went too.subtle. it doesn't show up much under the base coat

And is now pretty non-existent under the wash :(

I was originally going to do them both green, but after washing the first one wasn't too taken by the effect so have done the second washed in blue. It'll give them a bit of individual character on the board,.so not too worried. Now to go and do the metallics and spot colours.

Not sure how ill do commander hammer dance. Not even sure if I'll have time to get him done, given that I'll lose the batcave next week to a wild.mother in law.(she's lovely but visit is not ready compatible.with extended painting sessions...)

I shall jump in, on holiday at the moment, but have a set on ETB Primaris at home ready to build.
I shall get them all built and photo’d, then paint at least one of them, hopefully..

WIP on my raptor. Still trying to decide on what to do for the base but I'm leaning towards an urban rubble theme right now.

I like the Ultramarine in ZoBo's proof pic pointing at the large Khorne thing. I imagine he's saying, "You're a big man, but you're out of shape..."

Bonus points for anyone who can name the reference.

Then comes along the frakking Spinosaurus who kills the T-rex, and the movie says "LOVE THIS NOW! HE IS BETTER" But...in your heart, you love the T-rex, who shouldn't have lost to no stupid Spinosaurus. So you hate the movie. And refuse to love the Spinosaurus because it is a hamfisted attempt at taking what you loved, making it TREX +++ and trying to sell you it.

Amazing, did you wet blend that blue if you don't mind me asking so. Also did you dry brush the axe white areas or use a air spray?

Everything is layered and feathered. I'm not really a fan of wet blending.

Pretty much finished the mini, still have to put together a base. Not happy with the white DA insignia on the chest, but I can never get white to work for me. I might go back and fix up something I may have missed after I finish the base

I uploaded both an upside down image and a normal image to see how that works.

Welp, the initial image orientation doesn't seem to be the issue

Not sure what the issue is but I'll keep trying

He’s got an Australian flag, so it’s probably just the southern hemisphere thing.

When I took pictures with my iPad I needed to have it oriented in a very specific way (button on the right? Been a while) because it flagged the pictures with metadata that said which way was up that might not mesh with what the actual orientation was. One thing I hear would fix that was to open the pic in some sort of editor and save-as, just to replace the tags the iPad stuck on it. I just rotated the pad and took new pictures. These days I use a camera.

What can I say, I’m a fan of the classics. In fairness, I did try to follow it up with useful advice...
