If Marines were to get a new kit, I'd go for the Storm Raven.

My local GW store got their Spearhead Black Box this week and I had the pleasure of building the new Deathspinner and a Vanquisher for the store after volunteering to do so. Great looking kits, even better when you see the real thing up close compared to pics on the GW website.

Like many of the new kits that have been coming out, that Manticore makes me want to play a Guard army.

if the marines were to get a super-heavy it'd have to be a thunderhawk as it is their only official super-heavy, unless GW surprises us and magically gives us a stormbird

I did hear that the 'bigger brother' was kitted for plastic production, but the fear of demand has yet to make it show it's face. They'd have to shut down many lines of production to meet the demand for this one model. Hell....I might even make a Space Marine army if they did this...

love the new manticore/deathstrike, deathstrike especially brings back memories of soviet missile trucks. i think its a better design for the manticore, maybe everyone just loves the old one too much. cant wait to bring out my tau tanks in spearhead if that is what is said, railguns FTW. the fire prism does look like a lamp post, or penis cannon, depending on who you listen to, but i do love the new heavy weapons for eldar, just good for magnitising i guess

i cant wait for spearhead, i already have quite a mech list for my SM but rarely use it outside of Apocalypse, i can see this being awesome fun for all the tread heads

He probably meant the that the design would be based on the land raider... but i'd guess that if the marines get anything it would be a thunder hawk

I don't care a goblin fart about spearhead, but the new Eldar releases are nice. I will surely get one or two boxes of the Prism/Spinner (if they are swappable, what I think they are, aren't they?) and the new support cannon looks good, too.
Only downside is the support platforms haven't come out earlier. The bigger base would have made an even better shield for my wraithlord.

I also liked the way the old platform looked like the heavy weapon platform for the guardian squads.

But I do agree on the prism/spinner... I think I'll get a pair myself and see if I can swap weapons with magnets, but I'm not too sure if it'll be an easy task...

Own one FW Manticore already... I do like the look of the new ones, but a question:

The FW one is on a rotating turret, giving the gun a 360 degree line of sight like a LRBT. The new manticore seems to be fixed, does that mean we lose the 360 LOS?

P.S. Yes I know you dont need LOS to fire indirectly, but sometimes you have LOS so why not benefit from your BS if you can.

Manticore is a turret mounted weapon so it has 360. I think it even mentions it's a turret mounted weapon in the codex.

The new Manticore has a flatbed in the back - it wouldn't be hard to convert it to add a turntable for 360-degree firing.

After which, GW makes it hull-mounted in the next codex...

I built one this weekend and unless you drastically modify the weapons they will not be easiy to magnetize.
