Agreed, but it's not new or news. It's the same price as 10 Death Company or 10 Sanguinary Guard. Grey Knights Power Armor Trooper box sets were $35 US when they were made of pewter, so did anyone really expect they'd be that much cheaper in plastic? At least the plastic ones will likely come with optional extra bits and be quicker to assemble.

Sanguinary Guard are 40 pts a piece, almost always an elite slot. Death Company are 0-1 and although found in the Troops selection, do not score.

PAGK are the core troops selection of the army and only cost 20 pts (IIRC)....plus you need to purchase them for the Fast Attack/Heavy selections as well. Not digging that price.

$1,000,000 and a 50% discount

So the TAGK actually come with a Terminator Armoured Apothecary?

Damn that sounds awesome.

Hopefully the heads are seperate from the body (as per vanilla termies) so I can replace them if necessary (in the case that they look odd) with some Death Company or Sanguinary Guard bare heads.

Already have 25 PAGK and 14 TAGK, so I'll probably only require 2 boxes at most of each and use them as command squads.

Ony 20pts? I want to be sympathetic, but having had to buy a metric ton of 6pt. Ork boys even for average sized armies i'm not breaking out any tiny violins at this point...

You get ~25 boys for the price of a 10 man PAGK squad though, so it's not all bad.

Orks being over-priced does not equate into GK not being over-priced .

I don't think the PPM has too much of an effect on the price, being one of those space marine units that will be advertised as an insanely highly detailed unit with 90+ parts like the sanguinary guard I expected them to be like this. just be glad there not the same price as a vanilla marine tactical squad 23 GBP for ten if you ask me rather boring men.

I suppose the BA players got it out bad as they use sanguinary guard, death company and tactical marines or assault marines which are gunna cost you 37 GBP for a ten man squad.

Ok, so $35 for Justicar w/Sword, 3 guys with Halberds and 1 Incinerator, all in set poses, all metal, no options vs $33 for 5 guys, all weapon options, Justicar options, all plastic, multi-pose/multi-piece/easily convertable.

No... I don't see the problem here. I mean, the initial price was $10 too expensive (so by comparison it should be $25 for 5 metal and $23 for 5 plastic), but the comparative price between the two is hardly an increase and, in fact, you gain significantly more.

Damn sight better than the 157% price rise the fantasy Orc Boys just went under.

Yeah, prices can change before release. I remember seeing a big product listing of all the price changes that were going to occur a few years back (just before the Black Templar Codex hit IIRC). Anyway, it had all the prices for the unreleased Black Templar stuff, and what their cost would be after the price increase (also set to take place before the the BT release). So a stack'a products got price increases before they were even released.

I think even the Valk went up one price bracket before it was released, didn't it?

Yeah in the DCM forum AUD pricing came up. After seeing the price differences I'm assuming Australian Fantasy players are either A) Very wealthy or B) Ordering from the UK. I don't understand how LGS can survive at those rates.

I throw the odd $20 at a can of chaos black spray or a single mini every few weeks, the rest comes from overseas. A surprising portion of my local GW income is selling new players an AoBR or IoB set, can of spray and a starter's paint set after an introductory game (which nets maybe $210-$240AUD).

I can only hope the bits from the PAGK set compare to death company, and not just seals and the odd book-and-sword.

It is ridiculous, especially seeing as AUD just about equals USD atm. And we still pay quite alot more. Ebay is definitely my best friend for my Eldar.
On that note though, I will definitely be pre-ordering the new GK stuff to get my recently started GK army a boost
